TJPW Spring Tour (29/4/22) Review

The future champ? Credit: TJPW

With Golden Week underway in Japan, we are in the midst of wrestling overload. TJPW alone are running four shows, so the odds of me keeping up with everything are slim. Still, I do try to review all the live Tokyo Joshi events, and I’m not one to give up at the first hurdle (unless it’s really high), so let’s get into event number one.

Prominence – The Scarlet Flame of the Beginning (24/4/22) Review

Having already put on numerous preview events, mainly taking place on what appeared to be a slightly padded bin bag (which I loved), it’s finally time for Prominence to go big. I’ve been saved, though, by Marvelous selling it on their Vimeo page (no idea if they’re going to continue doing that in the future, it’s Marvelous, and they’re hardly reliable), so I can keep my streak of reviewing their shows alive. To make matters even better, thanks to them not being the most-watched company around, I still came in unspoiled, so that’s good. Anyway, enough blabbing, on with the show.

TJPW Still Incomplete (9/4/22) Review

Aino going for the big one. Credit: TJPW

TJPW’s first trip to Korakuen post-Sumo Hall gave us a fascinating card to play with. Yuki Aino and the pairing of Arisu Endo and Suzume are intriguing names to have at the top of the card, and it feels like we might be taking our first tentative steps into a new era. The question was whether they’d be able to carry their part of the load. Let’s find out.
