It says a lot that the latest Alice in Chains release will not be getting compared to their classic material, but instead their latest release Black Gives Way to Blue.  The seemingly impossible task of replacing Layne Staley has been done ably by William DuVall and The Devil Puts Dinosaurs Here has a lot of expectation resting on it’s shoulders.

White Wizzard – The Devil’s Cut

White Wizzard burst onto the scene back in 2009 with their debut album Over The Top, which saw them nominated for a Metal Hammer Golden God among other things.  With a very simple goal of bringing heavy metal back to it’s roots and away from the emo and screamo genres that they felt had taken over, they were a straight up metal band in the vein of Iron Maiden and Manowar.  A string of line-up changes that has seen bassist Jon Leon as the only original member led to a loss of this momentum which they will be looking to regain with latest release The Devil’s Cut.

Queens of the Stone Age were once one of the most exciting bands in modern rock music.  A couple of dodgy albums however has led to many feeling cold towards Josh Homme and his gang of merry men, so latest release …Like Clockwork is beginning to feel like a last chance for these suave Americans to stop their decline from rock and rolls consciousness.
