TJPW aren’t having much luck when it comes to the old COVID. Miyu Yamashita and Make Itoh have tested positive, with Yuka Sakazaki, Rika Tatsumi, Nodoka Tenma and Raku all being close contacts. That is a lot of talent to have on the bench (and fingers crossed they’re all okay), but they still scraped together a card, and I have faith that this roster can pull through. Let’s find out if I’m right.

It’s not often that we got a TJPW Korakeun show that feels like the setup rather than the main event, but there is a little bit of that here. Sumo Hall and Grand Princess are getting ever nearer, and by the end of Positive Chain, we’ll know a little bit more about that card. Is Nodoka’s dream of burying the belts going to stay alive? With the Rona once again running wild in Japan (thanks, Omicron), TJPW were forced to reshuffle this card after a host of new cases and close contacts. That meant Moka, Itoh, Noa and Kamiyu were out (and fingers crossed they’re all doing okay), but, on the upside, Raku is back! The Train God is here to make sure that everything will be okay.

Marvelous’s first Korakuen of the year had the potential to be one of their best, as they had packed this card with all kinds of goodies. With it out of the way, Tokyo Joshi can move forward into 2022 and start the build towards Sumo Hall, their biggest show yet. What will join Miyu vs Shoko on the card?
