Rambles about the wonderful world of wrestling.
We are as close to Wrestle Princess as we’re ever going to get! Well, that’s not actually true, it could be the day before, but we’re as close as we’re going to get while reviewing a TJPW show. Yup, it’s the go-home show for the big one, and with the card all sorted, we’re just adding a little of polish.

Let’s get D! Yes, we’re back with the company with the catchphrase that will always make me giggle because I am a child. On paper, this was a hell of a card, and spoiler, but it lived up to that expectation. So, I’m going to stop talking nonsense and get into the brilliance.

If you put Aja Kong vs Yuuki Mashiro on a wrestling card, I will be there. Honestly, that could have been the only match on this show, and Ice Ribbon would still have earned my money, so the fact there are some other exciting looking tidbits is a bonus. C’mon, Yuuki, it’s time to take down a legend!

Wednesday evening Tokyo Joshi! Well, it was Wednesday morning in the UK, but still, that’s not a treat we get very often. Wrestle Princess is even closer than the last time I said it was getting close, so I’m pretty sure we’re going to get at least one match announcement, right? I guess it’s time to find out.

With Wrestle Princess getting ever closer, Tokyo Joshi was back live on Wrestle Universe. We still lack a card outside of the title match, but with that being a massive showdown between Itoh and Miyu, I don’t think anyone’s too worried, and they both had featured singles matches on this show to whet the appetite.

I feel like I’ve had a weird relationship with Ice Ribbon in 2021. A combination of things not airing live and a lack of time and money has had me constantly playing catch-up or missing out on a lot of what they’re up to. Still, when I do tune in, I tend to have a lovely time, even with the rather major caveat that I’ll get into later in this review.

After an enforced break (fuck you, COVID), Marvelous are back! And golly gosh, do they have a good show to come back with. This one looked like a cracker on paper, so let’s see if it can live up to it in reality (spoiler, it did).

It’s SEAd’s sixth birthday, and to celebrate, they’re giving the devil herself a title shot. It’s perhaps not how I’d have chosen to do it, but hey, it’s Aniki who is taking the beating, not me.

After a mindbogglingly good first day at Korakuen, Tokyo Joshi is back to wrap up these Princess Cup shenanigans. My prediction of a Mizuki vs Shoko final didn’t come to be, but I did predict Shoko to win, so I might not have got it completely wrong. I guess it’s time to find out.

TJPW was back in Korakuen Hall, and if you’ve been paying attention recently, you’ll know that means we’re almost guaranteed a good show. The twist this time is that they were going back to back, finishing off the Princess Cup with a double-header. It meant there were no big title matches, and sadly Yuki Arai had to miss out after coming into contact with someone with COVID, but TJPW had called on some guests to flesh out the midcard, so their good streak looked safe on paper. Would that also be the reality? Time to find out.
