Between music festivals, weddings, trips to lochs and catching COVID for the first time, July was a busy month for me, so I can’t promise I saw all the good wrestling that was available (not that I ever do). However, I can promise I managed to find time to watch some (mainly during the COVID part of the month), so there will be plenty for you to get your teeth into. The Gatoh Move roster has set their feet on the road to Korakuen Hall, a show that isn’t happening until August but has a lot of tickets to shift. To start that journey, we’ve got Mizuki popping into her old stomping ground to say hello, a new rookie making her debut and a main event in which three teams will try to take Best Bros’ tag titles from them. With coronavirus hitting Japan, DDT were forced decided to cancel a bunch of their shows. However, being the lovely folks they are, they still wanted to give the fans something to enjoy, so have put together a series of closed door events at the DDT Dojo. It would have been easy for them to pack these with filler matches, but they’ve actually put together some cool little cards which combined with the unique atmosphere was enough to draw me in.
