Marvelous have been all over the place recently, bouncing around Japan to catch up with the fans they haven’t been able to visit over the last few years or, as was the case on this show, ever before. It was their first-ever trip to Oita, and with all their other travels having delivered some lovely times so far, it seemed unlikely this would buck the trend, but hey, let’s find out.

Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for August 2022

August has been a hell of a month for the old wrestling. Between the Princess Cup and the 5STAR, we’ve had loads of high-profile singles matches in the two big joshi companies, plus a load of exciting stuff helping elsewhere. It means this is a long one, but fingers crossed it’s also a good one, and there will be plenty for you all to get your teeth into.

Marvelous (8/8/22) Review

Going out in style.

Marvelous had zero luck coming into this show. A few days before, Chigusa Nagayo tested positive for COVID, taking her out of the cross-generational tag match they’d been building up to for a few months and preventing her from being at KAORU’s retirement. Then, to add a bit of sting to that kick, Rin Kadokura and Ai Houzan were also pinged, sending Marvelous into Korakuen with a depleted roster. However, with injury already putting KAORU’s retirement off for a year, the show must go on, and they were determined to see her out in style!

Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for June 2022

Where do these months keep going? I swear I finish one of these bastards up and then two days later have to write another. Still, July continued what I think has been a strong year for wrestling delivering everything from exciting rookies to new champions to violent cage matches. Does that sound like your idea of a good time? Because it’s mine.
