With GAEAISM in the books, it’s arguable that the real challenge for Marvelous starts now. They’ve built up a lot of momentum over the last six months or so, and having it all peter out in the aftermath of what was an incredible show would be a real shame. They need to keep going, and this is their first chance to convince people to stay invested in one of the best companies going.

The Road to GAEAISM was not a straight one. After two delays, GAEA’s 25th anniversary was being celebrated 26 years and a few months after it all began, but hey, there is a pandemic going on, and shit gets fucked up sometimes. It has still had perhaps the best-build of any show this year, and I am hyped!

In my defence, April was a hell of a month for wrestling, despite the event I was looking forward to most, GAEAISM, being postponed because of Japan’s COVID issues. From shit, occasionally a flower blooms. Is that a saying? I wrote it thinking it was, but now I’m not so sure. Fuck it. It’s there now. Sadly, Yoshiko has had to drop the SEAd title, her recent injury issues getting the better of her. In response, though, Nanae has booked Rina Yamashita vs ASUKA, and that’s one hell of a flower. Throw in a one-day tag tournament, and this show was can’t miss.

After being impressed by their showing at Assemble, I’ve spent the last month and a bit binging a whole load of old Marvelous. It’s been a lot of fun, and I figured the perfect follow up was to start rambling about their newer shows.
