The big show is behind them, but there is no rest for DDT. Instead, they’re gearing up for the D-Oh and all the slightly deflating wonders that contains. I kid, the line-up might not have lit my fire, but it’s sure to be good. Before we get there, though, it’s back to TV land for episode 11 of the DDT TV Show.

2020’s Ultimate Party might be a bit smaller than 2019’s, COVID meaning that it’s solely DDT turning up to play, but that doesn’t make it any less of a big deal. While their pals may not have been able to make it, DDT are still more than capable of putting together a good shindig.

A slightly strange Korakuen for DDT, as while their monthly trip to that famous old venue is always going to be a big deal, they are building to a bigger one. That means the two main events come from the same feud, the tag titles and the trio belts on the line as Nautilus and Eruption face-off. Two batches of Eruption? Yes, please.

After a short break, DDT have decided to revive the TV Show they were running during the worst of lockdown in Japan. Taking place in what appears to be an actual studio, I believe it’s going to be filmed twice a month and kicked off with Yoshimura challenging Brookes for the Universal Title.

I will get to it at the end of the review, but my god, won’t anyone think of me? It’s also called ‘Who’s Gonna Top?’ which is so on the nose, that I don’t think I can make a joke about it.

Sadly, due to Stardom not having their entire back catalogue up on World, we’ve had to leap forward a couple of months in our trawl through their history. There were five shows in the period we’ve missed, with a few interesting results scattered throughout them. However, the biggest thing to happen was the debut of someone called Io Shirai? Can’t say I know much about her, but I guess we’ll see how she gets on.

Another week, another trip to Korakuen for DDT, who like most wrestling companies are leaping at every chance to run that iconic building in the COVID era. At first glance, this card might look like it is lacking in big matches, but those that are there all have the potential to be great, so I’m putting it down as a dark horse to be a sneaky good show.
