December’s matches of the month is a tad shorter than usual because I’ve spent a lot of the month home for Christmas and was working on putting together my end of year stuff. You’ve got to feel a bit sorry for DDT, as having to follow that Tokyo Joshi show into Korakuen was a hell of an ask. I know they’re all on the same side, but they were going to have to go all out not to be blown away by their sister promotion.

It’s been a while since I last wrote about DDT. That wasn’t a decision I made on purpose or because I’d stopped enjoying the company, there is simply too much wrestling and too little time. Occasionally, something has to slip, and for a bit, that something was DDT. However, after enjoying a few of their recent big shows, I’m back and looking forward to catching up with what’s gone down.

It’s D-王 time! DDT’s annual tournament may not have blown me away with the line-up (where’s Saki?), but I guess I’m willing to forgive that slight and enjoy it. They certainly packed the opening night, treating Korakuen to a load of big matches.

2020’s Ultimate Party might be a bit smaller than 2019’s, COVID meaning that it’s solely DDT turning up to play, but that doesn’t make it any less of a big deal. While their pals may not have been able to make it, DDT are still more than capable of putting together a good shindig.

A slightly strange Korakuen for DDT, as while their monthly trip to that famous old venue is always going to be a big deal, they are building to a bigger one. That means the two main events come from the same feud, the tag titles and the trio belts on the line as Nautilus and Eruption face-off. Two batches of Eruption? Yes, please.
