Ice Ribbon’s latest trip to Korakuen Hall would see the ICExInfinity title find itself a new champion. With Tsukushi Haruka retaining the belt upon her retirement, the tournament to determine her successor has come down to four names: Tae Honma, Saori Anou, Ibuki Hoshi and Yuuki Mashiro. Who is going to lead Ice Ribbon into a new era? Time to find out.

Six beautiful years of Marvelous. Okay, I haven’t been there since the start, but everything I’ve seen is beautiful, so I’m willing to bet the rest is too. They celebrated their birthday in Korakuen Hall by crowing a new era of AAAW tag-team champions, so their seventh year was getting off to an exciting start.

Heads up, this is a long one. For whatever reason, April has been a particularly great month of wrestling, and it was only when I sat down to edit this that I realised quite how unwieldy it had gotten. Still, that just means there is more exciting stuff to enjoy, and that’s no bad thing, right?

Marvelous’s anniversary is fast approaching, and with it, the final of the AAAW Tag League. This show, therefore, was about figuring out who would be facing off for those belts as we bring the group stage to a close. If my maths is correct, both blocks still had at least two potential winners coming in, so there was plenty to play for. ‘Mon the Mystic Young Fox!

Better late than never, eh? I missed this show airing last week because I got drunk in London and forgot about it. Then again, Passmarket also changed their terms and conditions, meaning I might not have been able to buy it anyway, so it wasn’t all my fault. I’ve been saved, though, by Marvelous selling it on their Vimeo page (no idea if they’re going to continue doing that in the future, it’s Marvelous, and they’re hardly reliable), so I can keep my streak of reviewing their shows alive. To make matters even better, thanks to them not being the most-watched company around, I still came in unspoiled, so that’s good. Anyway, enough blabbing, on with the show.

At the end of my last Ice Ribbon review, I promised that I would stop talking about the transitional period the company was in. Of course, since then, Tsukushi has announced her retirement, and I got a fright when I glanced at Twitter in the pub on Friday and thought Tsukka was following her. Thankfully, that’s not the case, as she’s simply taking some time off to enjoy married life, but it would be nice if Ice Ribbon could have a quiet period. Anyway, no matter who is coming or going, the wrestling continues, and they were in Korakuen over the weekend, which is nearly always a good time.

I love a live Ice Ribbon Korakuen. We don’t always get them, so they feel like an extra special treat when they do come along. They’re even better when the card looks great, and this was an intriguing blend of guests, youngsters and old favourites. Let’s get into it!

It’s time to head back to the Colorful World of Marvelous, to see what all our favourite characters are up to now. Marvelous are having a joyously wacky start to the year, and I am always excited to see what they do next, so let’s get on with it.

The Colourful World of Marvelous is (according to the opening video package) cute, lovely, sexy, precious, energy and courage, a list that I can find no fault in. If anything, I reckon they could add a few more. Chaotic? Genius? Nonsensical? The best? They all work!

Marvelous’s first Korakuen of the year had the potential to be one of their best, as they had packed this card with all kinds of goodies. The big one was the main event, Big Hash vs Iroha, with the AAAW titles on the line. Could Takumi rewrite the wrongs of GAEAISM and take the belts home to Chig? Time to find out.
