It’s time for the big one! New Japan is in the Garden. And, well, I guess Ring Of Honor is there too. The G1 Supercard should be the show of the weekend, and if ROH weren’t there, I’d be putting money on that being the case. Sadly, I don’t trust those cunts, so we’ll have to wait and see. Still, Ibushi vs Naito could fart into a kazoo for thirty minutes, and I’d stand up and clap, so I’m going to have a good time.Continue reading
Do you know what’s lovely? Live wrestling. ROH appear to have made Edinburgh a regular stop for them and while I can’t pretend I think their roster is that great at the moment, as long as they bring over NJPW guys I’ll be there. They were in Edinburgh on the 24th of May to open their Honor United tour and I went along to check it out.
Evolve’s second show of the weekend kicked off with some sad news. The match I was looking forward to most, Darby Allin vs WALTER, had to be changed as Darby was injured earlier in the day. It’s kind of a miracle that doesn’t happen more often over this weekend. You’d think these wrestlers would be dropping like flies. Anyway, it’s still a decent card with a few potential show-stealers and an eye-popping main event.
And we’re finally here! Let’s pretend that 16 Carat wasn’t nearly a month ago and that my review is still relevant to anyone who isn’t me (wait till I cover some of the other stuff I have to catch up on). If you don’t want to pretend, screw you. I’m doing it anyway. The last day gave us the final alongside a handful of title matches which should be more than enough to keep us entertained. Let’s dish out some stars.
Night two and, well, we’re far enough away from the night that we all know what’s going down. There’s a massive return in our future, and we should probably get on with it. Let’s dish out some stars.
After a long old wait, it’s finally time for me to dive into 16 Carat Gold. I’ve been looking forward to it and the first day is packed with exciting match-ups, which means I’m not going to delay any further. Let’s dish out some stars.
With the New Japan Cup sucking up so much of my time, it’s taken me longer than I would have liked to get to wXw’s 16 Carat weekend. Judging purely by Twitter, it appears that everyone there had an absolute blast and not just because they were getting drunk in Germany. They kicked things off at Inner Circle 5 with all sorts of sexy match-ups. Let’s dish out some stars. Continue reading
Night Two of All Star Weekend had a tasty main event. With Ricochet having turned heel and challenged Chuck Taylor following his BOLA victory it was a question of whether he was going to get a run with the PWG Title before heading to WWE. Let’s dish out some stars.
Having checked out BOLA last year, I’ve decided to stay on the PWG train. That does mean I’ll be reviewing shows several months after the fact because I live in Scotland (which is a bit of a walk from Reseda) and the DVD model doesn’t exactly lend itself to a quick turnaround. I’m sure you can all live with that, though. Let’s dish out some stars.
After a short delay (there is a lot of wrestling to watch) it’s time to wrap up these BOLA reviews. This is the big one as some of the wrestlers are required to work three times in a building that all reports suggest is more like a sauna than a fun place to wrestle. Let’s dish out some stars.
