The calendar has ticked over, and we are into 2021, bringing with it, em, well, much of the same so far, but fingers crossed it gets better! It does mean we’re into a fresh year of wrestling, though, with a whole new set of opportunities for people new and old to impress. With it comes, of course, my monthly round-ups of my favourite matches, where I bring you a taste of all the stuff I’ve been enjoying. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s dig in.Continue reading “Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches of January 2021”
December is a weird month for wrestling as it both feels quiet and busy. We’re building up to the New Year buzz in Japan, but at the same time, everyone is going back and looking at the past twelve months as a whole, picking out their favourite matches and moments. Still, wrestling never sleeps, so there was plenty of stuff to get your teeth into, and these were the ten matches that I particularly enjoyed.Continue reading “Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches of December 2020”
Guess what, folks? I was smart this month. Rather than waiting for the 31st to hurriedly throw this together, I wrote it as we went. How fucking sensible is that? You may no3 call me a grown-up. There was plenty to write about too, as we’ve got a bit of deathmatch, a load of nonsense and even some straight-ahead wrestling, what will they think of next?Continue reading “Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches Of October 2020”

Another month, another list of my favourite matches. This feels like the first full post-COVID four weeks of wrestling we’ve had, which doesn’t make any sense when you consider two of the biggest joshi companies had to cancel shows, but there was a hell of a lot of wrestling! That means there are a fair few impressive bouts that didn’t make the cut, but they’ll have to forgive me because what is there, was brilliant. Enjoy.Continue reading “Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches of August 2020”
Before going any further, I feel it needs to be said that I, and by extension this website, believe that black lives matter. I am fully behind every protester in America or anywhere else in the world who is standing up for their right to live. This might not be the biggest platform, but it is one, so I implore that you provide support in whatever way you can and also to listen, listen to the people affected by this shit and learn from it. Someone like me can never fully understand it, but we can try.
Feels a bit trite to move from that into me spewing my nonsense about some matches I like, but oh well, here we go.Continue reading “Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches Of May 2020”
Strap yourself in folks, because with approximately fourteen million matches on this card and a billion wrestlers, DDT’s trip to Ryogoku is going to be a long one. However, I have every faith it’s going to be a very good one, so don’t let that put you off.Continue reading “DDT Ultimate Party (3/11/19) Review”
