Refused w/ Anna Von Hausswolff

There are still people who believe that by reforming, Refused have spat on their legacy. That no matter what they do now, it is not enough to make up for the fact they went back on their word. Personally, I think that’s bullshit, and as the final notes rang over the Glasgow Garage, you can’t help but feel sorry for the people that because of their own stubborn nature, will miss out on the band these punks have become.

Refused – Freedom

The band that changed punk rock or the ultimate sell outs.  Refused are a lot of things to a lot of people, but very few can deny the power of The Shape of Punk To Come.  The album which was thought to be their last was released before the band imploded in a basement in Virginia.   Afterwards they declared they would never play music together again.  But times change and people grow and seventeen years later they are back and not just playing shows, but releasing a whole new album, Freedom.

The Metallica Question

So Metallica will once again make their way over to our shores in the summer of 2015.  This time they will grace Reading with their presence and as usual there is a lot of people very happy about it, but a more vocal group of people pissed off.  Why?  Because of the feeling that Metallica have over saturated the UK with festival headline slots.  In the last four years they have played Download, Sonisphere and Glastonbury, all with only one new song and the pile of steaming shite that was Lulu.  People are apparently fed up of Metallica and want someone new to take the spot.
