DDT returned to Korakuen with a couple of big old matches on top. First up was the crowing of their inaugural Universal Champion, a belt that’s intended to help spread DDT across the globe. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that it shares a name with a certain title used by a company based out of Connecticut. Then, in the main event, we’ve got MAO vs Tanaka, which is all kinds of exciting. Shall we see what happened?Continue reading “DDT Into The Fight (23/2/20) Review”
It’s becoming a recurring theme for this list to go up a bit late, but in my defence, there is a lot of wrestling that I want to review. I have a habit of giving that precedence and I’m not even sure why. Anyway, I need to apologise because this is a New Japan heavy list. I watched every single Super Juniors’ show and while I did catch some other bits and pieces, it was less than I would have liked. Still, it was one hell of a tournament, so I’m pretty sure that every match justified its spot on the list.Continue reading “Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches of May 2019”
Here we go then. Last Saturday was the moment where AEW graduated from t-shirts to wrestling. To say a lot was riding on this is a bit of an understatement. It’s the first time in a long time that we have a Western wrestling company who could genuinely challenge WWE’s dominance. Fingers crossed they kick thing off with a bang.Continue reading “AEW Double Or Nothing (25/5/19) Review”
It’s night three of BOLA where we’re set to not only wrap this tournament up but also treat ourselves with the traditional ten-man clusterfuck and a tag title bout. I won’t waste your time by talking anymore, it’s BOLA, baby!Continue reading “PWG BOLA Night Three Review”
It’s BOLA time! Well, BOLA time was a few months ago, but you all know how PWG works. This year’s tournament was hella interesting as WWE’s purging of the indies forced Pro Wrestling Guerrilla to dig a bit deeper than usual. It was a chance for a few new names to make a splash and, in many ways, that’s more exciting than watching established stars do their thing.Continue reading “PWG BOLA 2018 Night One Review”
The second night of Champion Gate saw the big belt on the line as Ben-K attempted to follow up on his two-minute victory over the champ. Elsewhere, the more eccentric members of the Dragon Gate roster continue to annoy ANTIAS as Susumu and Horiguchi challenge for the Twin Gate title. All sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
As usual, the full translations for the various promos throughout the show can be found on iHeartDG by clicking this link. Let’s dish out some stars. Continue reading “Dragon Gate Champion Gate In Osaka 4/3/18 Review”
Dragon Gate moves onto their Champion Gate tour with the first event headlined by a brace of titles matches. I’m feeling more at home in Dragon Gate with every show, and they’re becoming one of my favourite promotions. Hopefully, that will continue to be the case.
Also, rather than put in numerous links to the same article, I’m going to say once that if you want in-depth translations for promos, you can get them at iHeartDG by clicking here. Let’s dish out some stars.
I’ve started looking forward to Dragon Gate shows. There are times when I don’t have a clue what’s going on, but on the whole, the wrestling is excellent while the characters are defined enough that I feel like I’m catching up. It’s an easy promotion to watch, and that’s half the battle won already. Their February 11th show was headlined by an Open The Triangle Gate Title match and ended up having a few interesting wrinkles along the way. Let’s dish out some stars.
There was a bit of buzz heading into this Dragon Gate show. Kzy challenging for the Open The Dream Gate title got everyone excited. As a Dragon Gate noob, I can’t pretend I was feeling the same. However, I love a bit of wrestling, so I got excited anyway. Did it live up to expectations? Let’s dish out some stars.
As we dive into the second Dragon Gate show of the year, I’m starting to get a handle on their roster, and I’m even beginning to pick up some of the storylines. In theory, that should mean the reviews improve. Please don’t take it upon yourself to tell me I’m wrong about that. Let’s dish out some stars.
