Watching The Fast & The Furious Backwards

The first Fast & Furious film that I saw was the seventh, and yet it was everything I hoped for. If it had been two hours of The Rock hulking out of a cast I probably would have been happy and yet that wasn’t even the daftest moment. It also got me thinking. If I can jump into this franchise at number seven with little to no issue, what happens if I watch the entire thing backwards. A few months later I’ve done exactly that.

Fast and Furious 7

Roughly ten minutes into Fast and Furious 7 The Rock and Jason Statham are having a good old-fashioned rumble.  The Rock grabs the Stath and for all intents and purposes Rock Bottoms him through a glass table.  Following this, The Rock and one of friends are blown out of a window (which is several stories up) and land on top of a car, causing it to crumple in on itself.  No one dies in this exchange and it’s the moment I got on board with Fast and Furious 7.

Royal Rumble Review

Last year the WWE had Batista win the Royal Rumble and we saw a crowd turn on the WWE.  A year on and nearly everyone, myself included, thought WWE could not make the same mistake again.  Sometimes, the most obvious story is the best one and last night the most obvious, and best, storyline, was to have Daniel Bryan win the Royal Rumble.  Yet, once again, WWE went with their idea of the perfect superstar and a crowd turned on the product.
