WrestleMania Weekend: Beyond Lit Up Review

It’s hard to judge where Lit Up sits on the WrestleMania Weekend silliness spectrum. A card of intergender matches taking place at midnight has the potential to go either way. The timing certainly hints towards at least a touch of the ridiculous as I’m guessing most of the audience have had a drink or two. Let’s just say that there’s the potential for all kinds of madness to go down.

And we’re finally here! Let’s pretend that 16 Carat wasn’t nearly a month ago and that my review is still relevant to anyone who isn’t me (wait till I cover some of the other stuff I have to catch up on). If you don’t want to pretend, screw you. I’m doing it anyway. The last day gave us the final alongside a handful of title matches which should be more than enough to keep us entertained. Let’s dish out some stars.

Going into a new promotion for the first time is an exciting thing as a wrestling fan. You never know what you’re going to get and while there will probably be a few familiar faces, there’s going to be a handful you’ve never seen before. Which brings us nicely to my first dive into wXw.

With wrestling doing well all over the place it’s perhaps no surprise that Germany has followed along. It’s always been a stronghold of European graps and with the likes of Walter chopping the shit out of people over there how can you not to be enticed into having a look? What better time to start than with their first big show of the year. Let’s dish out some stars.

Mae Young Classic Semi-Final Review

We’re into the semi-finals and it’s time for the Mae Young Classic to step up. Through no fault of the women involved and every fault of the minutes they’ve been given, the first few rounds have been good but unspectacular. All four of these wrestlers have equipped themselves well, but just needed a little bit more time to really show what they could do. With only two matches on this show, it should be their moment. Let’s hand out those stars.

Mae Young Classic Quarter Finals Review

Wrestlers who love wrestling. Credit: WWE

We’re into the quarter finals of the Mae Young Classic and the action is steadily improving. We’re still yet to see anything like the highs of the Cruiserweight tournament, but with the competitors left there is still plenty of time for that to happen. Once again, I won’t be mentioning JR and Lita because they suck. Right, let’s dish out some stars.

Mae Young Classic Episode 5 and 6 Review

Sixteen left. Credit: WWE

After a decent start to proceedings, the Mae Young Classic has cut out some of the deadwood as we move into round two. Most of the wrestlers left can work and there’s a handful who are truly special so the match quality should only improve from here. Once again, I won’t be bothering with talking about JR and Lita, they still suck. Let’s hand out some stars.
