Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for April 2022

Falling with style. Credit: TJPW

Heads up, this is a long one. For whatever reason, April has been a particularly great month of wrestling, and it was only when I sat down to edit this that I realised quite how unwieldy it had gotten. Still, that just means there is more exciting stuff to enjoy, and that’s no bad thing, right?

Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for March 2022

Well, March was a busy old month, wasn’t it? With big shows happening all over the place, there was plenty to enjoy, and I’m not going to waste too much time blabbing on up here when there is more exciting stuff down there. Let’s get on with it.

Ice Ribbon 1187 (20/3/22) Review

Credit: Ice Ribbon

At the end of my last Ice Ribbon review, I promised that I would stop talking about the transitional period the company was in. Of course, since then, Tsukushi has announced her retirement, and I got a fright when I glanced at Twitter in the pub on Friday and thought Tsukka was following her. Thankfully, that’s not the case, as she’s simply taking some time off to enjoy married life, but it would be nice if Ice Ribbon could have a quiet period. Anyway, no matter who is coming or going, the wrestling continues, and they were in Korakuen over the weekend, which is nearly always a good time.

Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for February 2022

A true dream team. Credit: WAVE

After an incredible start to the year, February 2022 suddenly had some pressure on its shoulders. Could it keep it going? In wrestling terms, the answer is yes, in the rest of the world, well, let’s not think about that too much (although if you have any spare cash, do consider donating to humanitarian causes in Ukraine). February was a fun month of wrestling, with a whole lot to talk about, so let’s get to it.

Ramblings About’s Matches Of The Year: Best Of The Rest

There is a lot of this. Credit: TJPW

Wow, what a year. The world may not have got any better, as it is still a total shitshow out there, but hey, there was some brilliant wrestling, right? I started off with a long list of thirty matches and have whittled that down to ten, nine of which I have written about below (in chronological order). This is the best of the rest, but honestly, any one of them could have been my match of the year (which I’ll have an article up about tomorrow). 2021 may not have fixed the world, but wrestling continued to make me very happy, and this lot played a big part in that.

Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for November 2021

Why am I not using pictures of the Up Up Girls more? Credit: TJPW

This month started pretty quietly but then took off in the last week or so to the point where I am not caught up on all the wrestling. (Actually, I’m never caught up on all the wrestling, but hey, it’s nearly the Christmas holidays and who needs to spend time with the family?) The end of November has been a veritable feast, and there were all sorts of lovely treats to get my teeth into. So, as usual, I’ve put together a list of some of my favourites. Enjoy!

Ice Ribbon #1161 ~ Sweet November (28/11/21) Review

Credit: Ice Ribbon

After a very successful trip to Ota City, Ice Ribbon returned to Korakuen for the first of Tsukushi’s title defences. In a nice role reversal, she faced the person she provided the first defence for last year, Suzu Suzuki. That also happened to be one of 2020’s best matches, so there were rather large expectations on their shoulders. Let’s see if they could live up to them.

Ice Ribbon #1157 (13/11/21) Review

It’s time. Credit: Ice Ribbon

Recently, I’ve moved away from reviewing shows that haven’t aired live because, to be honest, there are only so many hours in the day. However, some things are worth ignoring made-up rules for, and Tsukushi Haruka going after the big one is one of those things. It didn’t matter when this aired. I wasn’t going to miss the chance to talk about a match like that one.
