Rambles about the wonderful world of wrestling.
Rookie tournament alert! Sendai have got a load of rookies together, and we’ve got the first round on this show, so there was no chance I was going to miss that. Honestly, they could have just left it at that, but they’re giving us a Saki Akai ASUKA team and a tag title showdown, so we’re spoilt, really. Should I get on with it? Yea, I should get on with it.

We’re only a few days removed from TJPW’s next Korakuen trip, but there was time for one more stop before we got there. What went down? Well, you could either watch it or read this to find out. Wait, do both! Yea, that’s a good idea.

Recently, I’ve moved away from reviewing shows that haven’t aired live because, to be honest, there are only so many hours in the day. However, some things are worth ignoring made-up rules for, and Tsukushi Haruka going after the big one is one of those things. It didn’t matter when this aired. I wasn’t going to miss the chance to talk about a match like that one.

With TJPW’s next Korakuen on the horizon, we’ve got a streak of live shows in the build-up to it and, with them, the potential for a whole lot of fun. The first one was headlined by a massive ten-person tag, previewing all the big showdowns on that card, so I think we should stop blabbing and get into it.
Continue reading “TJPW It’s Time To Go (20/11/21) Review”There was a moment early in this match where Antonio Honda stood up with Togo’s legs trapped in his and paused, just for a second, but long enough that my brain made an assumption. After years of watching his work, I could almost see the silly wee dance we were about to get, a sweetener to make everyone laugh after a serious start to the action. I was wrong. Instead, Honda dropped backwards, wrenching on the hold and making it clear that there will be no jokes in this one.

I swear it was only a week or so ago that I was putting together this list for the end of September, but here we are, the spookiest month of the year is in the bag, and alongside watching a shitload of horror films, I did find some time for wrestling. It ended up being quite a busy month, what with TJPW and Stardom running big events, the G1 ending (I didn’t watch it, but people still care) and AEW continuing to make things enjoyable in America. So, what did I watch and, more importantly, what did I enjoy? Time to find out.

The TJPW streak of live shows continues as we’re getting perilously close to their next Korakuen. So far, we’ve only got the main event of 121000000 vs MagiRabbi booked, so I came into this expecting to get a couple more announcements and, spoiler, we did. Want to find out what they are? Well, you could probably get them on Twitter pretty quickly, but you could also read my review. C’mon, you know you want to.

With Marvelous still adjusting to the loss of a decent chunk of their roster, they decided to fill their most recent Korakuen with a tournament. A one-day tag extravaganza featuring a few select guests and an interesting bracket setup. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? Well, let’s find out.

With the launch of the new look Wrestle Universe, we’re getting a whole month of live TJPW shows, which is one lovely spooky season treat. Not that any of them are designed to make you jump, at least not yet. I’ve watched enough horror films to know that something scary could pop up at any moment, so I’m never going to rule it out. Anyway, I’ll stop blabbering nonsense and get on with the rambles.

Wrestle Princess II was a show of the year contender, as Tokyo Joshi delivered a feast of wonderful wrestling. However, that’s done now, and it’s time to find out what’s next. Will Miyu kick more of the internet’s favourites in the head? I certainly hope so.
