NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia Review

That isn’t going to end well. Credit: WWE

The key to a great weekend of WWE is an NXT show. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve watched the Royal Rumble, but the lowest match on this card had me more excited than Kane vs Lesnar vs Strowman. TakeOvers are the best programming WWE produces and reviewing them is always a pleasure. Let’s dish out some stars.

New Japan The New Beginning in Sapporo 27/1/18 Review

Tanahashi’s reckoning was upon him. Credit: NJPW

Sadly, New Beginning doesn’t feature flying cavemen or drunk drones. It’s the New Japan equivalent of the Bat Signal. It’s time to put that silliness behind us and get back to business. Which we’re doing by having a battle of the legends as Tanahashi takes on Suzuki. Not a bad way to start the year by anyone’s measure. Let’s dish out some stars.

Dragon Gate Open The New Year Gate 14/1/18 Review

I promised last year that I was going to start reviewing Dragon Gate and I intend to keep that promise. I go into this show at least knowing who a handful of the wrestlers are so it shouldn’t be quite as muddled as my NOAH review. However, I’m still going in blind when it comes to storylines, so please forgive me if I miss any of the subtle touches (because I’m usually so good at those). Let’s dish out some stars.

NJPW Fantastica Mania 22/1/18 Review

That’s some damn good synchronised diving. Credit: NJPW

The final night of Fantastica Mania madness. I’m sad to see it go. Sure it means we’re closer to The New Beginning tour which has loads of great matches booked but does it have a caveman? No, it does not!

If you’ve even glanced at my other Fantastica Mania reviews, then you’ll know I’m not exactly taking this seriously. Please don’t expect that to change here. Let’s dish out some stars.

NJPW Fantastica Mania 19/1/18 Review

It never gets old. Credit: NJPW

It’s that time of the year when CMLL grab a bunch of their guys, fly to Japan and have a party. Love it or hate it, Fantastica Mania is a unique tour in the New Japan calendar.

This year, NJPW have treated it a bit differently too. Rather than merging their guys with the luchadors they’ve given a few of their stars a rest and left the CMLL talent to carry these shows. There are still New Japan men sprinkled across them, but they’re not being presented as the attraction.

Will it work? Time to find out. Let’s dish out some stars.

Roman Reigns – Where’s The Plan B?

As someone who doesn’t watch weekly, I completely forgot he was IC champ. Credit: WWE

WrestleMania may still be two and a half months away, but we are getting ready to hit that build-up hard. Which means it’s probably not ideal for WWE to have their star man being caught up in stories of an illegal nature. That’s never going to look good. And whether it turns out Roman has been taking steroids or not, it is awful timing. Because if the worst comes to past, what does WWE do if something happens to Roman?

NOAH Navigation For The Future 6/1/18 Review

Stepping up to the champ. Credit: NOAH

I’ve decided to kick off the New Year be checking out Pro-Wrestling NOAH. By all accounts, NOAH has had a tough few years, but they are beginning to come out the other side. That makes me think it’s a good time to jump on board.

I should point out that I am coming in with little to no knowledge about the wrestlers or the storylines. This is what the kids call a ‘noobs’ review of NOAH. If you know what you are talking about, there is a chance it will infuriate you. Please don’t take that out on me, I’m only having fun. Let’s dish out some stars.
