There was a bit of buzz heading into this Dragon Gate show. Kzy challenging for the Open The Dream Gate title got everyone excited. As a Dragon Gate noob, I can’t pretend I was feeling the same. However, I love a bit of wrestling, so I got excited anyway. Did it live up to expectations? Let’s dish out some stars.

Meltzer’s Classics: Jushin Thunder Liger vs Naoki Sano, 31/1/90

Liger takes flight!

I’m about to do something I have never done in a Meltzer’s Classic. In fact, it might be something I’ve never done before. I going to compare something favourably to a Taichi match. It is my favourite Taichi match, but it’s a Taichi match all the same.

We’re onto my third NOAH show, and if I’m honest, I still don’t have a clue what’s happening in most of the major storylines. A lot of time is taken up Googling names to figure out who is who. However, rather than watching a bunch more and figuring it out, I’m going to continue to give you my opinion while knowing nothing, because that’s the kind of privilege I can get away with. Let’s dish out some stars.

While there were three New Beginning shows (and a few more if you include the Road To… events), it was clear right from the start that one reigned supreme over the others. The Osaka card was the chosen one. Christ, it has six singles matches on it, find me another New Japan show that has that? It was the show NJPW was building to, and it had the potential to be special. Let’s dish out some stars.

NJPW Road To New Beginning 6/2/18 Review

When you get down to it, the final taped Road To show for New Beginning was a remix of the one from the day before. However, it’s topped off with a big main event as Goto and Okada go after the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Titles. This was what Sanada and Evil had to put up to get a shot at their belts, and it creates an exciting dynamic a few days before those matches. Let’s dish out some stars.

Discovery Wrestling Disco Derby Review

It’s Rumble season. Credit: Discovery

First up, I apologise for this review being a bit late. Quite frankly there is too much fucking wrestling. I’m not really complaining, I quite like wrestling, but the Disco Derby was behind a few more prominent shows in the queue.

Discovery’s first event of the New Year saw them pull the old indie trick of putting on their own Rumble. While it might not have gone to plan (more on that later), this was a solid card with the potential for some great action. Let’s dish out some stars.
