It’s easy to forget just how big a deal Within Temptation are. Their latest UK tour has seen them playing Wembley Arena and their 2011 studio album The Unforgiving sold over 300,000 copies on ITunes alone. Therefore, the release of Hydra earlier this year has to be seen as a big deal and with it hitting number 6 in the UK charts it may be a case that this is a band that are able to make the leap into the mainstream on their sixth studio album.
The Treatment – Running With the Dogs
There are very few good young band who you could call a pure rock band. Oh I’m not talking about industrial post-hardcore slightly blackened metal bands. There are loads of all that shite, but pure rock and roll? Outside of Airbourne or The Black Spiders there are very few that aim to uphold the values of The Crue and G ‘N’ R. Well The Treatment are out to change that. These likely lads from Cambridge have released their second album Running With The Dogs and are desperate to prove that rock is far from dead.

The Double

The Double is director Richard Ayoade’s (The IT Crowd) second film in the directorial seat, following on from 2010’s Submarine. It is based off a short story by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and stars Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska. It’s a movie that suggests that Ayoade is not willing to stick to his comedic comfort zone as it differs widely from The It Crowd’s own brand of surreal humour.
Behemoth – The Satanist
Behemoth have not had it easy in recent years. From lead singer Nergal’s fights with leukaemia, a battle he thankfully continues to win, to his fights with the law in Poland over his ripping up of a bible on stage. In all this turmoil it’s been easy to forget that behind all of this is one of the best extreme metal bands in the world, therefore the release of The Satanist, their first album since Evangelion in 2009, is a big deal.
Wrestlemania Reaction

So I gave you my predictions for Mania, therefore it’s only fair I give you my thoughts after the event, now I’ve finally had a chance to watch it. If you don’t like wrestling I’d stay far away from this one because it’s pretty damn long. Enjoy.
Wrestlemania 30 – Predictions

So it is Wrestlemania Sunday and I don’t even know if I’m going to be able to watch it tonight, I have to get up early tomorrow and being in the UK staying up to watch it means being up till around 4 am. Whatever I end up doing it doesn’t prevent me having an opinion on the show, so I present to you now my predictions for just what is going to happen at the Super Bowl of wrestling.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America is an old school superhero. Everything from his look to his name is just a bit uncool to those of us not filled to the brim with American patriotism. Therefore, it’s no real surprise that when people look back on the first phase of Marvel movies, Captain America: The First Avenger is the one they have the least love for, meaning that Captain America: The Winter Soldier may not fill audiences with the same excitement as a new Iron Man or Thor movie. However, the First Avenger is an important part of Marvel lore and Winter Soldier is out to establish why.
Weekly Playlist 4/4/2014
For those of you that missed it, shame on you, here is the playlist from today’s episode of Stuart’s Alternative Hour.
The only non Spotify track was Dead Beyond Buried – Dripping Black Bile
A defence of heavy metal
So for some reason today Blabbermouth decided to run this story. Now I should make it clear before this descends into a rant, which trust me it probably will, what happened at Fort Hood is obviously a tragedy and nothing I say is at all designed to take away from that. If you think you are likely to be offended by any point I will make past the see more line below just don’t bother reading.
