wXw recently took a weekend to appreciate their fans, isn’t that delightfully pleasant of them? They’re doing so by having our da fight our kinky socialist uncle which I’m totally down for. Although not in a weird way. Fuck, did I make it weird?

New Japan finally got their asses over to the UK for a couple of shows in conjunction with Rev Pro. Taking place over two nights (one in Milton Keynes and one in Manchester), they brought a host of big stars and booked some damn impressive matches. While I went to the second night, I missed out on the first. Thankfully, the beauty of on-demand wrestling means I can still bring you my insightful thoughts on what went down.

Earlier this month, wXw’s We Love Wrestling tour left the confines of Germany and took a trip over to London. There, they put together a card that could have been billed as wXw vs Progress. I’ve mentioned before that I think more indie companies should work together, so that relationship can only be a good thing, especially if it means we get shows like this.

Evolve’s second show of the weekend kicked off with some sad news. The match I was looking forward to most, Darby Allin vs WALTER, had to be changed as Darby was injured earlier in the day. It’s kind of a miracle that doesn’t happen more often over this weekend. You’d think these wrestlers would be dropping like flies. Anyway, it’s still a decent card with a few potential show-stealers and an eye-popping main event.
I would be lying if I said this was a timely review as the show was nearly a month ago. A combination of the New Japan Cup, 16 Carat and everything else that has been going down means I’m only just getting to it. I always enjoy Cockpit shows, so hopefully, it will prove itself to be timeless. Let’s dish out some stars.
And we’re finally here! Let’s pretend that 16 Carat wasn’t nearly a month ago and that my review is still relevant to anyone who isn’t me (wait till I cover some of the other stuff I have to catch up on). Judging purely by Twitter, it appears that everyone there had an absolute blast and not just because they were getting drunk in Germany. Another month, another RevPro visit to the Cockpit. February provided us with a packed show featuring seven matches, including an exciting main event between Zack Sabre Jr and Travis Banks. Time to see how they all got on. Let’s dish out some stars.
First up, IÂ apologise for this review being a bit late. Quite frankly there is too much fucking wrestling. I’m not really complaining, I quite like wrestling, but the Disco Derby was behind a few more prominent shows in the queue.
Discovery’s first event of the New Year saw them pull the old indie trick of putting on their own Rumble. While it might not have gone to plan (more on that later), this was a solid card with the potential for some great action. Let’s dish out some stars.
