Not that long ago, the idea of Saki Akai headlining a DDT show, even one with limited attendance, would have felt pretty far-fetched. Early in her career, I remember someone describing her as wrestling like Bambi on ice, as while there was potential there, she didn’t quite seem in control of her limbs. However, times have changed, and now every time Saki steps into a ring, she seems to improve. Suddenly, the idea of having her main eventing isn’t ridiculous at all, and when you put Meiko Satomura across from her, it’s downright tasty.

Kagetsu Retirement Show ~ Many Face (24/2/20) Review

Are you ready to get emotional? I feel like I’ve already said goodbye to Kagetsu at least a couple of times, but this is the actual last chance we’ll get to pay our respects to her before she goes on her way. Christ, that makes it sounds like she’s dying. In reality, she’s twenty-seven and is probably off to live an awesome life, but I’ll be sad all the same.

Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches Of April 2019

Hello friends, April was a busy old month for the wrassling, wasn’t it? That little thing called WrestleMania grabbed everyone’s attention for a bit, but it was far from alone. Unfortunately, that means there is a lot of stuff I haven’t watched. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the Champion’s Carnival, and haven’t even got around to watching Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan. wXw Femmes Fatales 2018 Review

For the third year running, wXw used day two of World Tag Team League to host their Femmes Fatales tournament. Much like Ambition’s role during 16 Carat, this is a chance for them to do something a little bit different and use the fact they have a load of talent in town to put together something cool. Fingers crossed it lives up to the billing.

wXw World Tag Team League 2018 (Night 1) Review

World Tag Team League got started with one of the better cards wXw have put together this year. Not only did they serve up the tournament matches, but they backed them up with Toni Storm vs Meiko Satomura, a 4-way dance to determine the number one contender for the Shotgun Title and the latest battle between David Starr and Jurn Simmons as they both put their hair on the line. There’s a lot of fun to be had there.

Mae Young Classic 2018 Episode 5 Review

Things are heating up as we head into round two of The Mae Young Classic. Oh, I sounded like Michael Cole. Jokes aside, this is when things gets interesting. WWE have put together an impressive last sixteen, so if these women are given the time to do what they do best, we could get some incredible matches. (With that in mind, I’ll be going back to star ratings. As most of the rookies are gone, I think it’s fair).

Mae Young Classic 2018 Episode 1 Review

The Mae Young Classic returns for its second year with a line-up that looks likely to lap last year’s attempt. They’ve brought back the likes of Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez, then added genuine superstars like Meiko Satomura and Io Shirai to the conversation. Plus, JR isn’t on commentary! Praise the Gods. If WWE gives this tournament time to shine, it could be special. (Quick note, I’m not going to be dishing out star ratings in the first round, they don’t get much time while a lot of these wrestlers are still young in their career. I’m going to stick to thumbs up or thumbs down).
