Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for May 2021

Where has Raku gone? Credit: TJPW

I don’t know if it’s just me, but May’s felt like a long old month. Maybe it’s because I’ve actually been able to do some stuff for the first time since March last year, and that’s exhausted me. Seeing other people is hard, you know? Anyway, enough about me because there has also been plenty of wrestling to enjoy, and that’s probably why you’re here.

Stardom Cinderella Tournament Round 1 (10/4/21) Review

Credit: Stardom

I love the Cinderella Tournament. The over the top rope nature of its rules makes it such a wonderfully unpredictable event, and while I’m a little disappointed that Stardom has chosen to split it over two days this year, it’s still a highlight of the calendar. I’ve been dipping in and out of the company over the last few months, watching big shows and stuff that sounds interesting, but this was one I was never going to skip.

Stardom Goddesses of Stardom Tag League (29/10/20) Review

That probably hurt. Credit: Stardom

I managed to avoid the temptation to lock myself into reviewing all of Stardom’s Tag League, but a Korakuen is a Korakuen, and I’m honestly not sure when I last failed to ramble about a Stardom trip there. The 5STAR may have ended mere minutes ago, but Stardom is heading straight into Tag League. Perhaps it’s the short break between the two that has convinced them it’s a good idea for teams in the Red block to wrestle the teams in the Blue block. Make sense to you? Nope, me neither. Oh well, it doesn’t make too much difference, I can never be arsed working out the maths anyway.

Stardom Yokohama Cinderella (3/10/20) Review

I believe this was the first wrestling show at the new Yokohama Budokan, but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. Either way, Stardom had packed the card, with all the important titles up for grabs, a unit certain to disband and a couple of mystery opponents. By now, you probably know who they were, but just in case, let’s keep the suspense going a bit longer.

Ramblings About’s Top Ten Matches of September 2020

Another month is done, and this hell year ticks on, providing us with little joy. One thing it has given us, though, is plenty of fantastic wrestling. There are a lot of big tournaments going on right now, but not a single one made this list because, well, I honestly haven’t watched a second of them. There is a lot more fun to be had elsewhere.
