TJPW Winter (15/1/22) Review

Antics ahoy. Credit: TJPW

Let’s get this Max Heart Tournament rolling. We had a preview over the last two TJPW shows with Moka and Arai and (the brilliantly named) Free WiFi winning their respective clashes, but now all the big guns are coming out. Yup, Marika and Raku are here to end Venyu’s momentum before it even gets going. ‘Mon the Gyau Train!

TJPW Winter In Kobe (8/1/22) Review

Probably not how Itoh would have chosen to spend her afternoon. Credit: TJPW

While Ittenyon may take place in the new year, it is really the exclamation mark on the previous one. With it out of the way, Tokyo Joshi can move forward into 2022 and start the build towards Sumo Hall, their biggest show yet. What will join Miyu vs Shoko on the card? Well, it might be a while before we find out, but we’ll certainly start to get some ideas.

TJPW 秋~花鳥月露~ (6/11/21) Review

The kids are in the main event. Credit: TJPW

TJPW days are always good days, as you’re basically guaranteed a couple of hours of enjoyable wrestling. With the next Korakuen getting mighty close, this show was all about teasing those big title matches, with both 121000000 and the Sugar Rabbits in action, while Hikari and Miu faced off in the main event. I’m excited, are you excited? You should be excited.

TJPW 秋~花鳥月露~ (16/10/21) Review

Itoh definitely looking a miserable person who wants to leave. Credit: TJPW

Wrestle Princess II was a show of the year contender, as Tokyo Joshi delivered a feast of wonderful wrestling. However, that’s done now, and it’s time to find out what’s next. Will Miyu kick more of the internet’s favourites in the head? I certainly hope so.

Ramblings About’s Matches of the Month for August 2021

Total goblins. Credit: ChocoPro

Where the fuck did August go? I probably say something like this every month, but Jesus Christ, the last thirty-one days have flown by. Still, there was plenty of wrestling to enjoy (although perhaps not as much as expected, thanks to COVID rearing its ugly head), so I have loads of great matches to tell you all about. Give it a read, and let me know if you think I’ve missed anything in the comments below.

TJPW Stand Proud (26/6/21) Review

Time to get kicky. Credit: TJPW

On the week that Sakisama went viral and a million voices screamed out ‘step on me’, it seems only fitting that she makes her challenge for the Princess of Princess title. While I’m not entirely sure that’s a long-term way to get more people interested in Tokyo Joshi, horniness is a powerful drug, and I can only imagine there was at least a handful of people tuning in for the first time, hoping to catch a glimpse of their new favourite French aristocrat. Would Tokyo Joshi put on a show capable of convincing them to stick around? Time to find out.

TJPW Still Incomplete (17/4/21) Review

Itoh goes for the big one. Credit: TJPW

Tokyo Joshi is a company with a plan. The way they book their titles suggests it’s all been laid out in advance, each piece of the puzzle slotted in to open up a spot for the next. The question is, what happens when things change? Not the unavoidable bad change, injury or retirement, but the good one, where a wrestler takes off in a way that you maybe didn’t expect. I suspect the plan was always for Maki Itoh to challenge Rika Tatsumi on this show but had Tokyo Joshi expected her to be coming in after making international headlines? Will the temptation to grab a few more of those cause those plans to be launched out the window? Well, it’s time to find out.
