WWE 2K16

Footage has just been released of WWE 2K16, showing that…  well it’s pretty much the same as all the other ones.  WWE games have been running off the same tired engine for years now and even with a change in developer, it doesn’t look likely to stop anytime soon.  Sadly, that engine just doesn’t work and creates an experience that has more in common with a fighting game than a wrestling game.

Lifeline

The rise of mobile gaming has led to a lot of crap.  Free to play games, which in reality require you to pay several hundred pounds to actually achieve anything, and thousands of clones of more successful games.  However, it’s also led to some very interesting developments in text adventure games and other experiences of that ilk.  One example of that is Lifeline, a text adventure that sees you communicating with an astronaut who has been stranded on a moon.

Her Story has had an incredible amount of attention in the last few weeks.  Coming seemingly out of nowhere, it has captured the imagination of many and been written about all over the place.  It’s also something that is incredibly hard to talk about without spoilers, so you should only read further if you have played the game or have no intention of ever doing so.

Injustice: Gods Among Us

Continuing my cutting edge video game journalism, I am back with my second video, this time looking at Injustice: Gods Among Us.  As I said with the last video I am still trying to navigate my way around putting these together so please be nice, although if you do have any constructive criticism feel free to chip in.

Shadow of Mordor

Keeping up the Tolkien inspired posts, I have just finished Shadow of Mordor, a game by Monolith Productions, which takes place between the time of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.  It tells the story of Talion, a Ranger of Gondor, who is killed, along with his wife and son by the, Black Hand of Sauron.  However, he is brought back to life when he is merged with the wraith like spirit of Celebrimbor, an Elven lord.
