Rambles about the wonderful world of wrestling.
We’re onto Episode Eight of AJW Classics, so we’ll definitely get to the end at some point in 2050. It’s another Crush Gals vs Gokuaku Domei heavy show, but we’re not about to complain about that, are we?

It was a rough weekend for joshi as the dreaded virus forced both Stardom and TJPW to cancel shows. We did get one before the shit hit the fan, though, and it was the quarter-finals of the Princess Cup. I guess it’s time to see how that went down.

The 5STAR rolled into day two as it appears that Stardom have basically set up camp in Korakuen. I guess having Bushiroad bankroll you brings with it certain advantages, eh? Anyway, enough of my blabbing, onto the matches.

It’s 5STAR time! Yes, it’s not enough that we have the Princess Cup and King of DDT going on, we also have Stardom’s round-robin tournament bustling away in the background. It’s been a year of change in Stardom, giving this a rather fresh look despite the lack of outsiders. Will we get a new winner too? Or is my prediction that it’s time for Momo to rise back up the ranks correct?

Another day, another Princess Cup review. It never stops, does it? Still, who am I to complain about an abundance of wrestling that I enjoy?

I’m slowly getting through the overload of shows from last weekend and up next is day two of the Princess Cup. The first round was rather upset free, so would there be any surprises in the first half of round two? Time to find out.

Ice Ribbon’s final trip to Yokohama Bunka perhaps hasn’t gone as smoothly as they’d have hoped. COVID threw more than one spanner in the works, and there were moments where you wondered if it was ever going to happen. Thankfully, they made it, packing the card and getting a fair number of people into the building as they saw the old place out.

You wait all summer for a tournament to come along and suddenly they’re all fucking here at once! Up first, at least from my point of view, is the Princess Cup, Tokyo Joshi’s attempt to find their next title contender. It’s elimination-style with the entirety of the first round (some people are seeded and come in at round-two) happening on one show. What went down? Well, if you don’t already know, I guess now is the time to find out.

It’s time. After stubbornly trying to catch-up for far too long, I have accepted defeat and sprung forward in time with Ice Ribbon. Quite frankly, people barely need my opinion on stuff happening in the here and now, never mind shit from a month ago, so it feels like the right decision and Ice Ribbon’s return to Korakuen seemed like the perfect time to do it. I will still be watching all those shows at some point, so if you want my opinion buy me a pint and I’ll happily fill you in.

My Stardom Throwback project took a bit of a backseat recently (the ROH one is clinging to the outside of the car screaming for its life), but that doesn’t mean it’s over! As I’ve been saying for a while, we’re reaching exciting times in the early history of Stardom and today sees our first new rookie since show numero uno. Step forward, Saki Kashima.
