Having enjoyed Impact vs Lucha Underground from WrestleMania Weekend, I have decided to once again slip into the pool that is Impact. The company formerly known as TNA has burned me before, but their relationship with Lucha Underground combined with the likes of Don Callis taking critical roles behind the scenes has got me intrigued. I’m leaping in and hoping they’ve finally sorted their shit out.
In a lot of ways, this card is a mirror image of the one from the night before. While the matches have had a few tweaks, they’re hitting the same storyline beats, and in reality, it’s all about the main event – or at least it was. Because then they only went and added Ishii vs Henare. I’ve been calling for that since Tag League, suddenly, I’m quite excited.
Quick note: I’m going to change things up slightly and replace the pictures with NJPW’s post-match interviews. They’re an important part of the company’s storytelling, so it seems fitting.

After a short break, New Japan is back with a long old tour. With business being up, those in charge have realised that rather than selling out one super card, they can instead sell out multiple decent ones. That’s how we end up with the Junior Tag Titles main eventing. Not that we should complain too much, we all love wrestling, right? More of it can only be a good thing.

Earlier this month, wXw’s We Love Wrestling tour left the confines of Germany and took a trip over to London. There, they put together a card that could have been billed as wXw vs Progress. I’ve mentioned before that I think more indie companies should work together, so that relationship can only be a good thing, especially if it means we get shows like this.

The final stop on the RevPro catch-up sees us dropping in on New Orleans. With the help of some Japanese friends, Andy Quildan’s dream factory had put together a sexy card. This one promised to be a lot of fun and – spoiler – it delivered.

I don’t know how many times I’ve claimed to be done with TNA/GFW/Impact. It feels like it’s a regular occurrence. However, they keep finding ways to drag me back in. Their latest plan to get me to care again involved teaming up with Lucha Underground for their WrestleMania Weekend show. At a time of year when a lot of companies wheel out the same faces, it was something a bit different. You could officially declare me interested.

Supercard of Honor XII was a big night for Ring Of Honor as they broke their attendance record. It’s the latest example of the company being able to take advantage of the outstanding popularity of The Bullet Club as New Japan made the surprising decision to allow them to book Cody vs Omega. When you throw in Scurll challenging for the ROH Title and The Bucks for the Trios belts, it’s a Club focused show. Not that all the credit belongs to the BC members. I’m sure lots of people were tuning in for Silas Young vs Kenny King…
