Night Two of Strong Style Evolved UK was when I rocked into town. So, expect this review to be a bit different. I’ll be talking more about the experience of being there rather than the intricacies of what was happening in the ring because quite frankly I wasn’t taking notes. New Japan finally got their asses over to the UK for a couple of shows in conjunction with Rev Pro. Taking place over two nights (one in Milton Keynes and one in Manchester), they brought a host of big stars and booked some damn impressive matches. While I went to the second night, I missed out on the first. Thankfully, the beauty of on-demand wrestling means I can still bring you my insightful thoughts on what went down.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say Dominion was up there with Wrestle Kingdom for expectations coming in. Omega vs Okada IV would have guaranteed that by itself. Throw in Ospreay vs Takahashi, The Bucks vs LIJ, Jericho vs Naito and most people won’t just have their pants around their ankles but will be halfway to completion. Could it possibly live up to such a billing? I guess it’s time to find out.
After a long old tour, New Japan finally made it to Dontaku. Of course, they couldn’t resist making that two shows too, splitting it up between a Bullet Club night and a title shot night. First up, it’s the ongoing antics of the Club.

Hi No Kuni is in a weird position, falling slap bang in the middle of the Dontaku tour. Part of it and yet also separate. However, it’s giving us a handful of big matches all involving LIJ vs Suzuki-gun, so let’s not complain too much. Even more importantly, that means there isn’t a sniff of Roppongi 3K vs Suzuki-gun. Thank God for that.
The final stop on the RevPro catch-up sees us dropping in on New Orleans. With the help of some Japanese friends, Andy Quildan’s dream factory had put together a sexy card. This one promised to be a lot of fun and – spoiler – it delivered.

WWN capped off their WrestleMania Weekend with Mercury Rising, which despite its billing as a Supershow, was at its core Evolve 104. While there was a handful of new faces or irregular Evolve talent, that’s the only thing that distinguished it from the two events they’d already held. Not that I’m complaining, I liked what I saw.

After the joys of Bloodsport, it’s time for WrestleMania weekend to get a bit more serious with Evolve 102. I can happily confirm that I am now sober and ready for some lovely Gabe booked action. Let’s dish out some stars.
I would be lying if I said this was a timely review as the show was nearly a month ago. A combination of the New Japan Cup, 16 Carat and everything else that has been going down means I’m only just getting to it. I always enjoy Cockpit shows, so hopefully, it will prove itself to be timeless. Let’s dish out some stars.
