So the final headliner is out and it’s another solid booking, that completes a good year for Sonisphere. This is a very short post as there is not much to say but the final act is rock/dance crossover legends The Prodigy. Now I personally don’t really do the whole electro, dance, whatever it is bands like The Prodigy are, thing but I’m happy with this one (as someone who has bought a ticket). They were at Download 2012 but I was watching Slash so this will actually be my first time seeing them and I have never heard of anyone failing to have a good time at a Prodigy show.
Now once again it’s obviously not a very exciting or varied booking but I genuinely think that’s okay. Sometimes those bands just aren’t available to headline and Sonisphere is returning after a two year lay-off so they need to sell tickets, which they are going to do. If you want exciting and innovative I think we will need to look at the undercard of the festivals this year, with Downloads most recent announcement suggesting that it is very much going to be the case there (more on that later). All in all though, with only three bands announced I already feel like Soni is worth my money, so I really can’t complain.
