Every year you will be told that such and such a band sounds like nothing you have ever heard before. Now and then that’s true, I mean I genuinely can’t think of many groups that sound like Babymetal. However, more often than not it’s rubbish. They might sound like two bands you’ve heard before smushed together, but the influences are still there. But while I am not going to tell you that you have never heard anything like Puppy before, I’m going to go out on a limb and say you haven’t heard much like it.
David Brent: Life On The Road (2016)

It seems appropriate that as Ricky Gervais morphs into his most famous creation in real life, he should revisit him on the big screen. Thirteen years after The Office David Brent is back and he is as gloriously cringy as ever.
Lights Out (2016)

That shape in the corner of the room. Is it just a shadow? Or something more? We’ve all seen it. In the middle of the night when your half asleep brain plays tricks on you. Yet, when you scramble to the light, there is nothing there. Or is there?
Metallica
Metallica are one of the greatest bands of all time. Some people would call that an opinion, but they would be wrong. It is fact. Few bands have rewritten the rulebook as many times as James Hetfield and co. Go back and listen to Kill ‘Em All and then throw on Justice For All… and tell me that sounds like the same band. You can then mosey on down to the Black Album and hear something completely different.
SummerSlam

Six hours. That’s how long you would have to spend in front of your TV if you wanted to watch SummerSlam from start to finish. The biggest party of the summer long outstayed it’s welcome, and WWE certainly didn’t help it.
NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn

Last year’s TakeOver event in Brooklyn was one of NXT’s crowning moments and arguably features one of their greatest ever matches when Bayley won the Woman’s Title against Sasha Banks. This year they returned to the Brooklyn Bowl with a new look line-up sprinkled with some recognisable faces.
Pete’s Dragon (2016)

Did you know that Hollywood occasionally remakes films? If you have been close paying attention, you might have heard someone complain about it on the internet or something like that. What you won’t hear them admit is that sometimes a remake makes perfect sense.
The Shallows (2016)

If you dip your toe in the shark movie pool, you better come prepared. Not only are you going up against the behemoths that are Sharknado and Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus there’s also the shadow of a certain Spielberg film looming on the horizon. And yet despite that toothy opposition The Shallows has slipped in any way.
Reigns
Have you ever sat at home and wished that you could spend your evening playing Tinder with a kingdom? That life or death situations could be resolved by swiping left or right? Well, you might not believe it, but there is an app for you! Welcome to Reigns.
Pokemon Yellow Revisited

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Pokemon has kind of become a thing again. The game that many of us put hundreds of hours into in our childhood (and a few of us continue to do so in our adult lives) has suddenly become culturally relevant again. And not just for those clicked into the video game nexus. Odds are your mum has even heard of Pokemon Go and the various amusing stories that have come around because of it.
