There was a very real danger that Sakura Genesis would get lost in the shuffle. The week after WrestleMania most of us are suffering from wrestling fatigue and it would be easy to decide this was a show you could miss. If that’s a decision you made, then I’m here to tell you to sort your life out. Sakura Genesis put everything WWE did to shame, and New Japan continued to prove themselves the best wrestling company in the world. While this card was far from perfect there wasn’t a true dud to be found and here are ten things that we noticed during this brilliant night of wrestling.

When was the last time you had a great conversation? A chat that saw ideas flowing and hours passing. Whenever it was, I’m willing to bet it didn’t take place in a video game. For as much as conversations have become a central mechanic in nearly every RPG on the market, few of them feel real. You don’t engage in them, you barrel through them looking for your next quest or searching out that particularly delicious piece of lore. They’re puzzles where you search for the right combination of buttons to get what you want rather than conversations.

10 Observations From The Best Of The Rest At WrestleMania Weekend

Our week of wrestling coverage is finally drawing to an end, and there’s only one more stop off until we stop talking about the graps until… well, next week probably. For our final list of observations, we delve away from the big companies and down into the indies. We’ve got everything from the serious wrestling of Evolve to the insanity of Kaiju Big Battel, and there was plenty for us to pick out.

Ring of Honor or a fruity soft drink? Who knows.

As we approach the end of my week of wrestling coverage, it’s time to delve into the indies. Let’s start with Ring of Honor, a company going through a bit of a tough time. Two of the best, but did they deliver?

Last year’s WrestleMania TakeOver was an incredible show. Not only did you have that outstanding Zayn vs. Nakamura match but we also got Asuka vs. Bayley, American Alpha vs. The Revival and Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor. It was a perfect night of wrestling and lived longer in the memory than WrestleMania 32. Despite that, NXT TakeOver: Orlando seemed a bit of an afterthought. It’s been an average year down in WWE’s developmental and they are looking to regain the buzz they’ve lost. Did they manage? Well, here’s what we were thinking.

If you squint, he almost looks like classic ‘Taker.

Wow, I watched a shitload of wrestling this weekend. If you’re not into the graps, then you might as well stay away from the site this week because I’m going to be writing about it all. From Kaiju Big Battel to Evolve. However, we’re going to start off with the big daddy and talk about ten thoughts I had during WrestleMania 33. If you haven’t figured it out, there are spoilers ahead.
