I did one of these on my last blog but as time has passed and I have a new audience I thought it was about time to redo it. Here is my top 50 albums of all time/how I feel today. This could change in ten minutes so I’m just posting it now to stop me fiddling. Continue reading “Top 50 albums”
Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegal’s – Walk Through Exits Only
The words Phil Anselmo and extreme metal are probably enough to have any right minded metal fan excited. Well that’s exactly what Walk Through Exits Only is and it’s full of a apparently very pissed off Philip H. Anselmo (as he is now apparently known) teaming up with his band The Illegal’s to release an album chock full of heavy as fuck metal.

Four Four Stu

I did a podcast for university on Aberdeen’s impressive start to the season. Now while I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece, I am kind of happy with it in an embarrassed kind of way, so feel free to give it a listen. Credit for the inventive title goes to Sean Douglass.

It was also a surprise success so naturally we now have a sequel on our hands. The rather boringly named Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 is that sequel and has seen most of the original cast return apart from Mr. T who has been replaced by Terry Crews as Eric Devereaux.

Festival season is up and running and while festivals like Bloodstock have been pulling out exciting line ups involving the returning Emperor and the always loved Megadeth Download have held off on letting the cat out of the bag on their headliners for next summer. That is until today, when Andy Copping and co have decided to let the first of said cats out of said bag and let the world know exactly who they can expect to see when they are set up in that beautiful field down Donnington way.
Huntress – Starbound Beast
Huntress were shot into the metal world’s attention with their very solid debut album Spell Eater, which took elements of trad metal and thrash and mixed it with very occult lyrics and the incredible voice of Jill Janus. They’re now back only a year later with their second album Starbound Beast, which has presumably been pushed out in order to capitalise on that publicity.
