I have not been shy in expressing my views on Babymetal. My Sonisphere review was pretty damn harsh and maybe slightly over the top in my hatred for them. However, I like to consider myself a fair person, so rather than completely dismiss them, I thought I should sit down with their album and find out what I really thought about this amalgamation of J-Pop and heavy metal.
What Harry did next.

Franchises aimed at the teen market are very much in vogue at the moment. What started with Harry Potter has gone through Twilight, Hunger Games and all manner of poorer efforts. It’s also led to a legion of young actors coming out of these franchises with the whole world having an opinion of them. Some have failed spectacularly, Taylor Lautner comes to mind, as so far he seems to populate bad action movies and Grown Ups 2. While the likes of Robert Pattinson have shown a new side to themselves, with interesting roles like Cosmopolis, the upcoming Map to the Stars and his most recent release The Rover. Another teen idol who has broken out of the mold is Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.
Fez
I should really have pointed out that when I talk about games, they are most likely going to be hugely out of date. I don’t have the time or the enthusiasm to keep up to date on the latest releases and therefore I shall just be talking about what I have been playing and recently that was Fez.
Lucy and being bonkers
Lucy is bonkers. It doesn’t really qualify as a review, but it is the truth. When insanity was being handed out, it was at the front of the queue and yet there are people out there who have genuinely used it’s scientific inaccuracies as a platform for bashing it. Which quite frankly, I thinks even more insane.
Wovenwar
Front men have always been a bit bonkers. Whether it be Axl Rose and his refusal to turn up on stage at the designated time or the fact that Bruce Dickinson spends his days fencing and flying airplanes. It appears to take a certain kind of person to front a band. Yet recently a few people have taken that a bit too far. I’m not going to bother naming the horrible human being who instantly springs to mind, because quite frankly he is scum. However, the fact his old band mates have already moved on and started a new project, titled No Devotion, is something to celebrate. A similar thing can be said for Wovenwar.
My Football Manager Addiction

So to debut one of the newest sections of Ramblings About, I am going to make a confession. You see dear reader I have a problem. I have an addiction to popular football management sim, Football Manager. This addiction of course goes further back than Football Manager, to the days of Championship Manager and I imagine if the change is ever made to a different name it will follow on with that.
How The Inbetweeners 2 Improves on the Original.

When The Inbetweeners hit our TV screens in 2008, it seemed to explode, you couldn’t walk down the street without hearing a quote from the show. After three seasons this success transferred itself off our tellies and onto the big screen, becoming one of the biggest British comedy movies off all time, despite failing to make it over the other side of the pond. In spite of this success, the first movie never quite achieved the brilliance of the TV show, it lost a lot of the charm that had made people fall in love with this group of misfits in the first place.

King 810, are they worth the hype?
I seem to be spending a lot of time recently talking about the nature of hype. Whether it be gimmick metal or Upon a Burning Body, hype is currently getting a lot of… well, hype. This brings me onto King 810, a band who in recent months have been hyped up more than any band in a long time. Hailing from Flint, Michigan, famous mainly for murder and em, Terry Crews, this band of misfits have spoken at depth about the rigors of their upbringing, it’s a remarkable story and if you can get your hands on it, Dom Lawson’s feature in last months Metal Hammer is a must read. However, the question has to be whether underneath all of this, King 810 have the music to back it up.
Does the Expendables 3 take itself too seriously?

When The Expendables was first announced it seemed a brilliant idea, an over the top action film bringing together the greatest film hard men of all time. The fact that it wasn’t very good wasn’t really an issue, the movie was fun enough that it got away with it. The second followed on in much the same vein and now here we are with Expendables 3, featuring a whole new cast of young up and comers joining our heroes… and Frazier Crane.

Marvel and Endings
The Marvel Cinematic Universe seems well on course to take over the world. With each film seeming to build on the success of the last, it has created multi million dollar franchise after multi million dollar franchise and with their most recent release, Guardian’s Of the Galaxy, they look set to take that even further, as it takes us away from the world of superheros and out into a universe that has the potential to go in any direction it chooses. That doesn’t even take into account the fact that it may also be their most entertaining film to date. However, there has always been one flaw in this seemingly indestructible behemoth. That being that they just can’t seem to get a handle on how to end their movies.
