The Naito comeback express is picking up speed and with the B Block in Osaka he needed Moxley to lose to Jay White before he faced off against his stablemate, Shingo, in the main event. Just that alone sounds like a shitload of fun, so let’s not hang around – onto the wrestling!

The G1’s final big stop before Budokan saw them stroll into Osaka for a couple of nights. These two shows will give us a huge indication of exactly where Gedo is going with this unpredictable tournament, and we start with SANADA getting a chance to pick up his first win over Kazuchika Okada.

We are over the hump and the G1 is roaring towards it’s conclusion. Meanwhile, the booking has me in a place where I genuinely don’t have a clue what’s going on. I’m still optimistically clinging to my Naito pick, but who fucking knows at this point.

In a surprising twist, I caught a bit of the undercard on this show. Amazingly, it got me quite excited for Moxley vs Yano. It was easy to forget when he was filtered through the lens of Vince McMahon, but Mox is a funny guy, and there is every chance he and The Master Thief will create some magic. Anyway, that’s tomorrow’s show. Today we’re in the A Block and have plenty of fun to look forward to.

It’s Korakuen time! Stardom had put together a packed card for their latest trip to that famous venue, as a lot of titles were on the line. Will they all stay where they are? Or is it time for a couple to shift hands? I’ve been saying Momo was going to beat Bea since Bea won the belt, so I can’t back out of that now. Time to find out if I was right.

After a underwhelming performance from the A Block the previous day, Aichi will have been looking at B to pick up the slack. It was certainly a card with potential as Naito got his shot at ending Moxley’s unbeaten streak, Ishii and Juice went head to head, and Shingo faced-off with the Switchblade. Was there enough there to make it a classic? Let’s find out.

We’ve got two title matches on this show, with both of sets of tag belts being defended. It’s Tokyo Cyber Squad challenging in both cases, but I think it’s safe to say that the main event is the one with real intrigue as Jungle and Konami take on Momo and Utami. I can’t picture a world where that is anything less than great.

Normally the G1 is a time of burnout as you try to stuff as much wrestling into your face as possible before you’re sick. However, this year, New Japan seems to have nailed the scheduling, and after a few days off, I am craving some Grade One Climax action.
