Money In The Bank has become one of WWE’s better PPVs. In the last few years, it’s tended to be notable and not just because of the briefcase that’s on the line. However, with the brand split era meaning these Network Specials are becoming less and less unique, it’s tough to build up enthusiasm for events you don’t care about, and WWE’s booking sometimes suggests that they agree. Don’t let that put you off too much, though, as here are ten observations that we made about Money In the Bank.
Mixed tags! Matches where breaking the rules means losing your belt! Submission matches! LET’S GET EXTREME! Yup, Sunday night was the one day of the year where WWE gets extreme, apart from all those other days that they do it. For some daft reason, I sat down and watched all of it despite having all the enthusiasm of Dean Ambrose (more on that below). So here are ten things I observed during WWE Extreme Rules.
I almost can’t be arsed writing this. WWE obviously couldn’t be arsed putting much effort into Backlash so why should I bother? This PPV (are they still PPVs? What do we call them now?) was a massive waste of time, and while the crowning of Jinder Mahal will help people to forget that, it’s still true. However, I’m nothing if not a pro with a lot of time on their hands so here is eight things I observed at Backlash.
There’s not much you can rely on with WWE. Their unreliability is the most reliable thing about them. Yet, over the last few years, NXT TakeOver shows have consistently stood up and been brilliant. From Nakamura vs. Zayn to the rise of the tag-team division; you are always guaranteed at least one classic match and if you’re lucky you’ll get a few more. With the TV product slowly heating up post-Mania, it’s no surprise to say that Chicago continued that streak. Here are eight things we noticed while watching NXT TakeOver Chicago.

Was anyone excited about Payback? The first big show after WrestleMania is always a bit of a slog, but this year a slog would have been an improvement. The Superstar ‘let’s move them all around a bit and not really explain it’ Shake-Up threw a spanner in the works, and we hit Payback with all the momentum of a wet hanky. But when have we ever let that stop us? Here’s a few thing we noticed during this horribly average show.
Ah, Mr Wyatt, you had so much potential. The cult leader with the golden tongue. The man who begged us to follow the buzzards to salvation. In you, we saw a new Phenom. A new figure of dread to reign supreme over the world, or should we say Universe?
Last year’s WrestleMania TakeOver was an incredible show. Not only did you have that outstanding Zayn vs. Nakamura match but we also got Asuka vs. Bayley, American Alpha vs. The Revival and Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor. It was a perfect night of wrestling and lived longer in the memory than WrestleMania 32. Despite that, NXT TakeOver: Orlando seemed a bit of an afterthought. It’s been an average year down in WWE’s developmental and they are looking to regain the buzz they’ve lost. Did they manage? Well, here’s what we were thinking.

Wow, I watched a shitload of wrestling this weekend. If you’re not into the graps, then you might as well stay away from the site this week because I’m going to be writing about it all. From Kaiju Big Battel to Evolve. However, we’re going to start off with the big daddy and talk about ten thoughts I had during WrestleMania 33. If you haven’t figured it out, there are spoilers ahead.
Much like Christmas, WrestleMania weekend seems to get longer every year. We’ve already had Evolve 80 and Hornswoggle taking Grado to Suplex City, and we’re only just getting started. The big show is still a couple of nights away, but despite that, predictions must be predicted, and this is what I think will go down at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania is still failing to generate a buzz, but nowadays WWE isn’t the only show in town. From Joey Janela’s Spring Break to Evolve, there’s more wrestling than you could shake a kendo stick at. Of course, this also extends to the E’s own developmental brand, NXT, where they will be looking to repeat last year’s feats and steal the spotlight from their older sibling. So, how do we think NXT TakeOver: Orlando will go down?
