Lamb of God – Sturm und Dran

If tough times create great music, then we can all be forgiven for getting a little bit excited about the new Lamb of God album.  Throw in the fact that they are consistently one of the best heavy metal bands we have and Sturm Und Drang already feels like a contender for album of the year.  However, after all the shit that Lamb Of God, and in particular lead singer Randy Blythe, have had to go through in the last couple of years, can it really stand up to fan’s expectations?

Lifeline

The rise of mobile gaming has led to a lot of crap.  Free to play games, which in reality require you to pay several hundred pounds to actually achieve anything, and thousands of clones of more successful games.  However, it’s also led to some very interesting developments in text adventure games and other experiences of that ilk.  One example of that is Lifeline, a text adventure that sees you communicating with an astronaut who has been stranded on a moon.

Discover Weekly

With competition rearing its head from Apple Music, Spotify have introduced a new feature.  Discover Weekly.  A weekly playlist put together by, I assume, an algorithm buried away in Spotify which look at what you’ve listened to and comes up with other bands that it thinks you might like.  It’s a nice feature for those wanting to move outside of their musical comfort zone, but does it really work?

Battleground

Battleground is very much a B + PPV.  Coming just ahead of Summerslam, it is one of those classic middle of the road WWE shows, which is more likely to set up Summerslam than do anything spectacular itself.  However, with rumours swirling last week about who might show their face.  Battleground suddenly became a lot more interesting to a lot more people.  So let’s have a look and see exactly what went down.  Unsurprisingly, this will contain spoilers.

Song of the Sea

Some films revel in action and set pieces.  Massive blockbusters often want you to remember what happens in the film.  They want you to stare agog as characters leap from building to building.  Dodging death by the skin of their teeth.  Then there are films that just create a world and a setting that you want to be a part of.  They make you fall in love with their landscapes and the characters that inhabit them.  Song of the Sea manages to do that and so much more.

Her Story

Her Story has had an incredible amount of attention in the last few weeks.  Coming seemingly out of nowhere, it has captured the imagination of many and been written about all over the place.  It’s also something that is incredibly hard to talk about without spoilers, so you should only read further if you have played the game or have no intention of ever doing so.
