We all have them, those big bands you know you should love, but just leave you feeling a bit cold. I have a fair few of them in my closet, bands for whatever reason I have never got or never given the time to. That’s where Second Chances come in. An article series where I will go to bands who fill this criteria and give them exactly that, a second chance. To start things off, we have The Prodigy. A band who have always gone over my head. Sure, there are some great things about them, I remember how cool and dangerous they seemed when they first broke and I was young and impressionable. But in the here and now, I just struggle to care. Even their famed live show failed to convince me when I watch them headline Sonisphere last year.
All Time Low
If you were to ask me what I thought about pop punk, I’d probably instinctively tell you that it wasn’t for me. If you were to find me in a slightly harsher mood, I’d probably tell you it was pish. However, the truth is that doesn’t make much sense. In the real world I am a pop music fan, someone who has Taylor Swift sitting next to TesseracT on their Ipod. So in an attempt to show a bit of fairness, I thought I would give the new All Time Low album, Future Hearts, a listen.
Far Cry 4

Charging into an enemy base astride an elephant, firing your gun left, right and centre before leaping off, stabbing someone in the neck and claiming it for the Golden Path, the freedom/terrorist movement (depending on where you stand) that you are a part of. There is no denying that moments like this in Far Cry 4 make you feel awesome and that’s not even a campaign mission or the only way you could go about it. Want to sit on the hill opposite and snipe, never even being spotted by those in the base. You can do it. Want to float in on a hang glider raining grenades from above. Yup, they’ve got it. Far Cry 4’s greatest strength comes in moments like this.
Royal Rumble Review
![]()
Last year the WWE had Batista win the Royal Rumble and we saw a crowd turn on the WWE. A year on and nearly everyone, myself included, thought WWE could not make the same mistake again. Sometimes, the most obvious story is the best one and last night the most obvious, and best, storyline, was to have Daniel Bryan win the Royal Rumble. Yet, once again, WWE went with their idea of the perfect superstar and a crowd turned on the product.
Shadow of Mordor
Keeping up the Tolkien inspired posts, I have just finished Shadow of Mordor, a game by Monolith Productions, which takes place between the time of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It tells the story of Talion, a Ranger of Gondor, who is killed, along with his wife and son by the, Black Hand of Sauron. However, he is brought back to life when he is merged with the wraith like spirit of Celebrimbor, an Elven lord.
The Babadook

Horror in 2014 is a strange genre. Modern films seem to fall into two categories. Every now and then you get something smart and interesting, for example the great You’re Next, which took traditional horror tropes and twisted them in a dark and amusing way. However, more often than not we are left by Paranormal Activity inspired cattle-prod cinema. Horror movies that rely mainly on the idea of being quiet for a while, before making the audience jump with a big bang. Into this fray now enters The Babadook, a movie written and directed by the possibly twisted mind of Jennifer Kent.
Hell in a Cell Review
Hell in a Cell was last night and as I did a preview for the event, I felt the natural follow on was a review. Believe it or not, there will be spoilers past this point.
The Binding Of Isaac
Released in 2011, The Binding of Isaac is positively modern by the standards of this blog and with The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth due out in November, a remake of the game, it is actually relevant to talk about as well! Created by Edmund McMillen (one half of Team Meat, the creators of the excellent Super Meat Boy) and Florian Himsel, it’s a blend of dungeon adventure and roguelike.
Night of Champions Review
Night of Champions was last night and as I previewed it I figured I should go all the way and also give my opinion on the PPV itself! If you haven’t figured it out, this will contain spoilers, so don’t read on unless you’ve seen it or don’t care and if you don’t care I presume you don’t like wrestling so probably shouldn’t read it anyway.
Gunpoint
In a nice change, today I am going to review a game that has come out in the last two years, Gunpoint. Created by indie developer Tom Francis, it was released last year, when I did actually hear about it through a video Videogamer did, which you may as well look at, as it’s probably a lot more informative than what I’m writing.
