It’s BOLA time! Well, BOLA time was a few months ago, but you all know how PWG works. This year’s tournament was hella interesting as WWE’s purging of the indies forced Pro Wrestling Guerrilla to dig a bit deeper than usual. It was a chance for a few new names to make a splash and, in many ways, that’s more exciting than watching established stars do their thing.

It’s here. What started as a throwaway comment from Dave Meltzer (dick) on Twitter, somehow ended up being one of the biggest indie shows of all time. 10,000 people, all making their way to Chicago because they trust Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks. They’ve proven they can sell the tickets, create the WrestleMania atmosphere and put a star-studded card together. The only question left was whether they could put on a show worthy of the hype. I guess we should find out.
RevPro Live at the Cockpit 28 (1/4/18) Review
Another out of date review, although it’s not quite as bad as the last RevPro show I did. At least it took place at the start of this month rather than at the beginning of last. Either way, we’re slowly catching up, and as we do, these become more relevant.

WrestleMania Weekend: Beyond Lit Up Review

It’s hard to judge where Lit Up sits on the WrestleMania Weekend silliness spectrum. A card of intergender matches taking place at midnight has the potential to go either way. The timing certainly hints towards at least a touch of the ridiculous as I’m guessing most of the audience have had a drink or two. Let’s just say that there’s the potential for all kinds of madness to go down.

PWG Mystery Vortex 2018 Review
It’s the PWG show where we don’t know who is going to turn up. Except we have to get it on DVD which means it arrives over a month later, and by that point, we don’t only know the card, but most of the results. However, that’s what you expect from Pro Wrestling Guerilla and we ain’t going to complain. We just hope that the wrestling is good enough to make up for the hassle. Let’s dish out some stars.

Having checked out BOLA last year, I’ve decided to stay on the PWG train. That does mean I’ll be reviewing shows several months after the fact because I live in Scotland (which is a bit of a walk from Reseda) and the DVD model doesn’t exactly lend itself to a quick turnaround.
