My journey through Stardom’s history has become a bit of a leisurely stroll, but that’s not a problem! Who is in a hurry to get anywhere? We’ve made it to their first anniversary, so that’s not too bad! Let’s see pop in and see how Stardom was getting on.Continue reading “Stardom Throwback: New Year Stars (22/1/12) Review”
It’s time to move into 2012 in our run through Stardom’s history, and while the shows on Stardom World are a bit sparse for around this time, I’m determined to try and get my hands on as many of them as possible. Thankfully, the first few shows are already there, so that’s a future Stuart problem, and we can look at how Stardom kicked off their year.Continue reading “Stardom Throwback: New Year Stars (7/1/12) Review”
Just a few months after her debut, Saya Kamitani has earned her first singles main event, taking on Utami for the Future Of Stardom Title. Sadly, as one wrestler stepped up, another stepped away, with this show marking Leo Onozaki’s retirement. So, let’s celebrate her career and toast to Kamitani’s future with a good old-fashioned review. I’m sure it’s the present they both wanted.Continue reading “Stardom New Year Stars (16/2/20) Review”
A quick note before I get started, I am going to be cutting down on the number of shows I review this year. I’ll still be doing a decent amount, but I want to write about some other things, and it’s hard to do that when you’re trying to keep up to date on multiple promotions. With companies like Stardom, I’ll pick and choose the exciting or noteworthy events while I wouldn’t expect in-depth reviews of every New Japan tournament (cheerio, Tag League). It’s a small change, but one I thought was worth mentioning.
Anyway, today I am going to have a look at Stardom’s second show of the year, which ended on an angle that saw them give the hornet’s nest a boot before 2020 had properly woken up.Continue reading “Stardom New Year Stars (3/1/20) Review”
Stardom’s fifth New Year Stars event of 2019 was all about building towards their Anniversary show in Osaka, and while there wasn’t much in the way of big singles matches, we are getting an Oedo Tai showdown in the main event. Throw in Hanan challenging for the Future Of Stardom Title, and there was every chance this would be an entertaining show.Continue reading “Stardom New Years Stars (19/1/19) Review”
It appears to be company policy at Stardom to hit the year at a sprint. This was their third show of 2019 and the first of two that they held on the 5th of January. I shall, of course, be reviewing both, so let’s get down to it.Continue reading “Stardom New Years Stars (5/1/19) Review”
Round two of my journey into Joshi came just 24 hours after the first as Japan’s early January wrestling buzz saw Stardom racking up the hours. As mentioned in my previous review, I’m very new to this company, to the extent that you could rightly claim I don’t know what is going on. With that in mind, please excuse any mistakes.
With the dawn of a New Year, I have decided to start watching Stardom. Joshi is a bit of an unknown to me, and this seems as good a place to start as any. I do now need to point out that I am going into these shows with little to no background knowledge, so be nice. My understanding of characters and feuds will grow as we go along, so until then, we can all have some fun with it, can’t we? However, if you are looking for in-depth reviews leave it a couple of months. At the moment, I’m just going to be getting to grips with things.Read more
