As a rule, I try to keep my wrestling reviews relatively current. There are too many outstanding shows going on to get wrapped up in reviewing everything, and sometimes you just have to let stuff go. When it comes to PWG (and their unusual way of getting their product out to a broader audience), I’m willing to make an exception. The Battle Of Los Angeles has become an essential date in the indie calendar and with the DVDs finally being released to those of us who couldn’t pack into the sweatbox, it’s time to check out this year’s edition. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

He really is a good looking lad.

Thor: Ragnarok solves a problem that has been plaguing Marvel’s cinematic version of the Thunder God from the start. Even when the Avengers worked it out, the standalone Thor films lagged behind, and we were beginning to worry that it would never happen. Thankfully, Ragnarok is here, and with it, they finally realised that everything about Thor – from the concept to the world he inhabits – is slightly ridiculous.

Revolution Pro Monday Night Mayhem Review

WWE TLC Review

I was dreading TLC. The combination of a pumpkin vs Norman Bates, a powerpoint presentation and a stupid main event didn’t do much for me. Then illness hit WWE (get better soon everyone), and it got interesting. Suddenly, two former leaders of The Bullet Club were going head to head. There was still a lot wrong with this card, but at least I now wanted to watch it. Let’s dish out some stars.

After dipping back into ICW last week, I figured why not keep going? Fight Club 71 was filmed in my home city of Edinburgh, but I was on holiday, so I missed it. ROH Global Wars Chicago Review

ROH doesn’t seem to do photos.

It feels mean to point it out, but Ring of Honor needs New Japan at the moment. Their roster is threadbare, and they are at their best when they are able to pull on NJPW’s talent pool. It’s a sad reality that has turned Global Wars from a cool gimmick into some of their best shows. Noone can pretend that this Chicago event would have been half as successful without the New Japan talent and, in particular, a certain Cleaner making an appearance. Let’s dish out some stars.

With Evolve 94 proving to be a decent showing from Gabe and his boys it was up to 95 to continue that momentum. They had an influx of fresh and relatively unknown talent, a new champion and an invasion angle set up. In theory, that’s an excellent place to start, and it now all leans on where they go next. It’s been a tough month for Evolve. Between leaked emails and broken relationships, the focus has moved away from the ring and towards the shenanigans behind the scenes. Since last year’s Fear & Loathing I’ve fallen out of touch with ICW. I haven’t had the chance to attend any shows and haven’t watched a Fight Club in far too long.
