Six hours. That’s how long you would have to spend in front of your TV if you wanted to watch SummerSlam from start to finish. The biggest party of the summer long outstayed it’s welcome, and WWE certainly didn’t help it.
NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn
Last year’s TakeOver event in Brooklyn was one of NXT’s crowning moments and arguably features one of their greatest ever matches when Bayley won the Woman’s Title against Sasha Banks. This year they returned to the Brooklyn Bowl with a new look line-up sprinkled with some recognisable faces.
Pete’s Dragon (2016)

The Shallows (2016)
If you dip your toe in the shark movie pool, you better come prepared. Not only are you going up against the behemoths that are Sharknado and Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus there’s also the shadow of a certain Spielberg film looming on the horizon. And yet despite that toothy opposition The Shallows has slipped in any way.

Pokemon Yellow Revisited
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Pokemon has kind of become a thing again. The game that many of us put hundreds of hours into in our childhood (and a few of us continue to do so in our adult lives) has suddenly become culturally relevant again. And not just for those clicked into the video game nexus. Odds are your mum has even heard of Pokemon Go and the various amusing stories that have come around because of it.
Watching The Fast & The Furious Backwards
The first Fast & Furious film that I saw was the seventh, and yet it was everything I hoped for. If it had been two hours of The Rock hulking out of a cast I probably would have been happy and yet that wasn’t even the daftest moment. It also got me thinking. If I can jump into this franchise at number seven with little to no issue, what happens if I watch the entire thing backwards. A few months later I’ve done exactly that.

Suicide Squad Spoilerific Review
I don’t feel like there is much to spoil about Suicide Squad, but I make no attempt to keep away from them here.
Oh DC, you are trying so hard and yet you are failing so bad. After the complete shitshow that was Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice they’re hitting back with Suicide Squad. A film whose marketing campaign is selling it as a wacky take on the superhero genre where the bad guys are the good guys. Does it work? Well, no.
Ratchet & Clank
Nostalgia is a powerful thing. You only have to look at the legions of adults suddenly remembering their favourite Pokemon to see that. What’s interesting though is when you go into something intended to tickle a bit of that nostalgia buzz with none of that nostalgia to bask in. All of which brings us nicely to Ratchet & Clank.
Cruiserweight Classic First Round
The Cruiserweight Classic’s First Round is over, and it has quickly become one of the highlights of my wrestling week. A fast-paced show the five to ten-minute matches have given us the taste of how talented some of the competitors in this tournament are.
