Roadblock

In an unusual move, WWE has decided to hold a live Network special during the build-up to WrestleMania. It means that this Saturday, we have Roadblock, an almost mini-PPV that has thrown up a few interesting matches. While there is a case to be made that having to promote another event during the Road to WrestleMania is a mistake, it is happening now, and as I always do, I feel like I have to give my thoughts on what will be occurring.

A Tale of Two Rumbles

Sunday the 24th of January saw two very different wrestling promotions on opposite sides of the world put on very similar shows.  ICW held their Square Go, at Glasgow’s famous Barrowlands, while the WWE hosted the Royal Rumble in Orlando.  Both shows are based around a Rumble style match and I was lucky enough to attend one and to watch the other (although I did have to stay up until 4 am so I don’t know how lucky that was).  The question is, how did they compare?

Wrestlemania

So Wrestlemania has again crept up on us and this Sunday the Showcase of the Immortals will once again beam around the world.  Sadly, the build up has been patchy at best.  While at other times it has been R-Truth stealing the Intercontinental Championship (seriously, how insane would you have thought I was if I had suggested R Truth was going to be part of the ‘Mania card six months ago?).  Despite this, I can’t help but be excited by the WWE’s Super Bowl.  Despite creative consistently shooting its performers in the foot.  I reckon the WWE will pull this off.  Why?  Well let me tell you.

Royal Rumble Predictions

The Royal Rumble is most wrestling fans favourite PPV of the year.  Screw ‘Mania, although we tend to love that too, the Rumble is where it is at.  While we have had disappointing Rumbles over the years, it is fair to say it very rarely fails to deliver at least couple of fun moments and it also sets us on the ‘Road to Wrestlemania’.  We get to know who will be competing for the big one on the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’.  I can’t think of anymore WWE buzzwords to throw in now, so lets just get onto some of my predictions.

Survivor Series Predictions

So Survivor Series is just around the corner and it may be one of the most one match Pay Per Views WWE has put on for a long time.  Nearly all of WWE’s build has been focused on Team Cena vs Team Authority, with only Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose coming close to getting a similar level of attention (and they are a long way off in second).  However, there is actually a whole under card happening as well and some of it could be alright, so here is what I expect to happen.
