19) Review

After a underwhelming performance from the A Block the previous day, Aichi will have been looking at B to pick up the slack. It was certainly a card with potential as Naito got his shot at ending Moxley’s unbeaten streak, Ishii and Juice went head to head, and Shingo faced-off with the Switchblade. Was there enough there to make it a classic? Let’s find out.

My spoiler-free must-see recommendations are Tomohiro Ishii vs Juice Robinson, Shingo Takagi vs Jay White and Tetsuya Naito vs Jon Moxley.

NJPW G1 Climax 29 (27/7/19) Review

Let’s throw it out there, this G1 schedule is a bit too relaxed for my taste. I’m usually drowning in wrestling by this point, desperately trying to keep afloat. This year? It’s all been quite relaxing, as I’m even managing to keep on top of my Stardom reviews. Give me more!

My spoiler-free must-see recommendations are Kazuchika Okada vs KENTA.

Stardom Big Summer (20/7/19) Review

With Korakuen just around the corner, Stardom rocked up in Osaka with a bunch of title matches. The SWA, High Speed and Artists belt were on the line, and surely we got at one least switch out of that lot? I know the answer to that question, but I’ll keep those of you who don’t in suspense. Enjoy the review.

NJPW G1 Climax 29 (24/7/19) Review

Normally the G1 is a time of burnout as you try to stuff as much wrestling into your face as possible before you’re sick. However, this year, New Japan seems to have nailed the scheduling, and after a few days off, I am craving some Grade One Climax action.

My spoiler-free must-see recommendations are Shingo Takagi vs Jon Moxley and Tetsuya Naito vs Tomohiro Ishii.

Stardom In Takaoka (7/7/19) Review

G1 madness is going to make keeping up with Stardom hard over the next few weeks, but I’m going to try goddammit. As this incredibly late review will testify, that attempt has not started great.

NJPW G1 Climax 29 (20/7/19) Review

New Japan is still taking its time with the photos, so have another match graphic. Credit: NJPW

It’s the G1’s final night in Korakuen before they take a well earned break. I, for one, am looking forward to the time off. Mainly because I want to get some Stardom reviews up, but also because this wrestling is exhausting. It’s hard watching people be brilliant, so I hope all the talent appreciate the struggles I’ve been going through.

My spoiler-free must-see recommendations are KENTA vs EVIL, Kota Ibushi vs SANADA and Kazuchika Okada vs Will Ospreay.

NJPW G1 Climax 29 (19/7/19) Review

We’re already hitting the stage where I’m struggling for ways to fill these intros. It’s the G1, does it need introduced? How can you not be on a high after Kota vs Ospreay yesterday? Just think about that and dive into the next one.

My must-see spoiler-free recommendations are Shingo Takagi vs Taichi, Hirooki Goto vs Tetsuya Naito and Jon Moxley vs Tomohiro Ishii.

NJPW G1 Climax 29 (18/7/19) Review

I don’t care what Kota says, you should not slap him at this moment. Credit: NJPW

After a short break, the G1 strolled back into Tokyo with an intrigue packed card. It will never cease to amaze me that I can wake up on a normal Thursday morning and watch Kota Ibushi vs Will Ospreay. How awesome is that? Why would you not watch wrestling? And if you do watch wrestling, why would you not watch New Japan? If you’re that person, get your fucking head examined.

My spoiler-free must-see recommendations are EVIL vs SANADA, Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay vs Kota Ibushi.

AEW Fight For The Fallen (13/7/19) Review

AEW Fight for the Fallen (July 13) Results & Review — It was a cool aesthetic. Credit: AEW

Fight For The Fallen was not only a wrestling event, but a charity one too as AEW looked to raise money for those hurt by gun violence. That’s most definitely a good thing, so let’s find out if their wrestling lived up to their altruism.
