Payback Preview

It says a lot about WWE’s build up to WrestleMania that the normally pointless Payback already feels like a much better show. With the introduction of Shane McMahon and a load of new talent, suddenly WWE seem to be on a bit of a role, and it’s hard to see this show failing. Not only do we have established like Cesaro back in the fold but exciting new feuds featuring Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin. WWE might just be headed in the right direction.

Life is Strange

There were two key moments in my play through of Life is Strange. The first came early on in the game when I was exploring the grounds of Blackwell Academy, the school within which a lot of the game is set, and I realised that I – in the form of central character Max – was nervous about approaching certain characters. To put it simply ‘the popular kids’. I knew that Max wouldn’t do that so why should I? And besides, what if they were mean to me?

Axl/DC

It has been confirmed. Axl Rose shall be the new lead singer of AC/DC. It may have appeared to be the kind of rumour that you would laugh about in the pub chuckling into your pint before bemoaning the stupidity of the internet, however, somehow it has come to be, and it makes no fucking sense.

Bieber’s Not Too Bad

Shock, horror children know more Justin Bieber lyrics than they do Shakespeare! This eye-catching headline is making the rounds today as the world expresses dismay that children are not memorizing the words of Shakespeare. But here’s the thing, I did a degree in English literature, and I can tell you right now I didn’t spend my younger years memorizing the Bard. I sat in front of the CD player and sung along to ‘Rock DJ’ until I could recite it word perfect. Christ, I probably still can.

The Jungle Book (2016)

Some decisions just make sense, and it is impossible to go through the cast list of The Jungle Book without thinking, ‘damn, that makes sense.’ From Bill Murray as Baloo to Christopher Walken as King Louie it just works. The question is can Jon Favreau’s attempt at a ‘live-action’ (in reality the only live-action element is Neel Sethi as Mowgli) Disney classic live up to such an illustrious cast?

Death To Heel Authority Figures

Since WrestleMania, I have started doing something I haven’t done in years. I have been tuning into Raw on a weekly basis. As I write I have last night’s Raw on the TV (I live in the UK so watching it live would still be insane) and I am to a certain extent, enjoying it. Now don’t get me wrong, there are still problems. For one thing, it is far too long, and I am thankful that by recording it I can fast forward through both adverts and the tedious parts. But, something is working on WWE TV right now, and a whole lot of that is down to the decision to throw Shane McMahon into an authority position.

Fallout 4: The Game That Helped Me Understand Bethesda

81-0-1447157316

I have never understood Bethesda games. I played Oblivion but ended up rushing through it just to get it over and done with while I have bounced off Skyrim and Fallout 3 more times than I count. I appreciate the vast worlds they create but there is just too much, and I quickly got bored of walking through them and killing things. That is until Fallout 4.
