Stardom’s March trip to Korakuen saw them pack the show with title matches. All the big belts are on the line, including Iwatani’s WOH Title. With that in mind, let’s stop blabbing, and get down to it.
Stardom’s second show from the 21st had an intriguing card. Not only did we get Natsu and Miyagi challenging for the Goddesses’ Titles, but Stardom put on a ‘Battle of the Super Heavyweights’ between Viper and Goya Kong. Throw in a decent undercard, and this had the potential to be a load of fun!
After a bit of a break (although there was a lucha show during which some Stardom talent put on a decent match), Stardom is back with two shows in one day. Nothing like being eased back into it, eh?
Stardom ventured to Nagoya where they’d put together a fantastic card for the occasion. Not only did they bless us with Kyona vs Watanabe (a match which has been getting all the hype), but it was backed-up by Artist Of Stardom and SWA Title matches. It’s fun for all the family.
Having already worked a show on the afternoon of the 24th, Stardom turned around and did another one in the evening. I can’t imagine wrestling a match a month, never mind two in a day, so this always amazes me. Adding to the fun is the presence of Women Of Honor title match as the new champ, Mayu Iwatani, defends her belt against Konami and her unbeatable Triangle Lancer. How exciting
Towards the end of February, the Stardom roster made their way to Osaka where they were doing one of their two show days. This was the first one, so if they had all decided to take it easy, well, to be honest, I wouldn’t have blamed them. History suggested that wasn’t likely, though.
After an incredible start to the year, February’s wrestling delights were always going to struggle to compete with January’s. Honestly, I had to make an effort to fill this list which is why it’s a bit late (I was ill over the weekend and used it as an opportunity to catch up on hyped stuff). That brings its own excitement, though, as it means there are a few matches I might not have checked out otherwise. Let’s have a look.
Stardom’s February trip to Korakuen Hall brings with it a new member for Oedo Tai, another youngster going after Hazuki’s High Speed title and a big tag team main event. On paper, this show had the potential to be very good, did it live up to that? Time to find out.
Ah, KBS Hall. Is there a more beautiful location for wrestling? The stunning stained glass window that stands behind the ring always sends a shiver of pleasure down my spine. Judging by the pre-match promos throughout this show, the wrestlers appreciate it too, and it could turn even the dullest of affairs into a spectacle. This won’t be dull, though! It’s Stardom, we love Stardom. The beauty of the venue will only add to the talent in the ring.
With the birthday celebrations out of the way, Stardom were back in Osaka with a card that had the potential to match the big day. Did it? Well, you’ll have to read on to see.
